From BB to Incredible (Have issues, need help, advice)

Thanks - I'll take a look at it. I did try audio manager, but not the pro and it wouldn't let me separate the two )phone/vs sms/txt and email. I must not be doing something wrong or have a setting checked that interferes with the apps. I am in situations where I need the phone to be silent, but need sms/mms and email to vibrate only quickly with one tap. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have this working using Locale. I set all my alerts to Default Sound for Notifications and then set my SMS to any sound EXCEPT the default sound. Then Locale will change the default notification sound to silent at night and back to my chosen default sound in the morning. Anything not set to default sound at night still makes noise so SMS still alerts me.

Has anyone ever found an app that will allow u to set SMS and EMAIL notifications, separately??? If so, please share..One of the things I miss on my bb :-(

Is it ok to use my blackberry storm 2 charger with my incredible? The HTC charger that came with it makes an annoying high pitched sound when its nearing 100% charge and I can't stand the sound anymore.

Yes you can use any micro-usb charger as they are all built in the same USB standards. I use my Storm 1 car charger and it's worked beautifully.

Hey all, how do you select multiple messages using K-9 so I can delete a bunch at a time? Miss that from my bb...

Awesome thanks. I wasnt sure because of the electrical outputs and things like that. But now I am just happy that I can use all my extra blackberry chargers!

Not quite sure about K-9, but with the Gmail app etc, you simply place a check mark next to it then a menu will appear at the bottom asking if you want to "Archive, Labels, Delete". It should work the same considering K-9 is built off the Gmail apps code source.

My SMS and EMAIL notifications are already seperate. I'm a little confused by this question. I have one sound setup for gmail, a different sound setup for SMS, and no sound setup for exchange mail.

First post woo hoo! Just made the switch from crappy Storm 2 to Incredible. The only down part is there is a month long wait for it on vzw! Arggggggg

Auto on and off?

Just made the decision to move from a BB Storm to the Incredible... based on Verizon's best guess, I'll have it by July 23rd.

One feature I can't find in the stuff I have read, however, is the auto on and off that my Blackberry's all have had. I'm always chuckling at my wife's cell phone battery being drained because she forgets to turn her Motorola phone off at night. My Storm, on the other hand, turns itself off at my normal sleepy time and wakes up just as my first shot espresso of the morning is being pulled. Does anyone know if the Incredible can duplicate this magic trick?

I get my incredible today, should be coming in just a few hours. Coming from BB 8330, first smart phone I had, so I'm pretty psyched to take such a leap.

Might see everyone in a few hours if I have problems/questions.

Not that I'm aware of. Blackberries don't really turn off they go into basically is what can be considered as a sleep mode. While the Android platform phones actually turn full power off, so no wake up is available without pushing the button. Which sucks at times.

Congrats you are stepping into a world that will blow your mind. BB is soooooo far behind on everything from hardware to OS and apps. I would consider the 8330 a smart phone because you can add apps to it, but it's not even on this level. Android is a college student where you 8330 was still a freshman in highschool.

Here is some advice...

1. Buy a Blackberry, join Crackberry.
2. Buy an Android device, join Android Central.
3. Go back to Crackberry after 2 months of owning such Android device and laugh about the problems you now remember having with that crapberry.
4. Enjoy your Android device.

People are still having the same problem we all had, the story never changes.

It's funny you should say that because I did exactly that lol. I may sneak over there sometime today and look inside the Storm forum and see what the new issue is.....lol.

*Warning* Really stupid question to follow:

I just activated my Inc last night, coming from a Sh!tstorm 1. I activated the Inc via the first set of instructions when booting up the Inc (calling verizon). I noticed that all of my contacts have been transferred over from my Storm. I assume this is a new feature and that I no longer need to go into a Verizon store and have them transfer my numbers over? In the past I've always had to go into a Verizon store and have them transfer my contacts to the new device.

This phone is amazing! In the few hours that I've played around with the phone it has blown away anything that my old Storm or any BB can do.

The verizon backup assistant probably did it for you. The first thing I would do is go into accounts and sync in settings and disable the verizon backup assistant. And from now on just let it sync with Google. Once the phone syncs with Google you will never need anything else again. If you keep running both of them you will eventually end up with either missing contacts or double contacts or a mix of both.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to disable the VZW BA. I only provides me with syncing options but I can't find where to disable the VZW sync. I did find another thread that addressed this issue but it didn't seem like anybody was able to either delete or disable the VZW BA. Any advice on how to disable it?
