From where are you making the jump to the Note 3?

Coming from a Motorola Photon on Sprint. I probably will be leaving sprint even though it has unlimited data, I have never even reached 2 GB. The question becomes AT&T or Verizon, I have heard bad things about Verizon in as much as they disable features and AT&T having problems with updates. What do you folks think?

Both of the things that you said are true about both carriers. It seems that VZW disables more features than AT&T does. They both lock bootloaders AFAIK. They both are slow with updates, but it seems that VZW is slower than AT&T.

That said I prefer AT&T, though my experiences haven't been perfect with regards to customer service. At least my customer service calls to AT&T have been due to an issue that I caused or a general question that I had in most cases. Most of AT&T's issues are training related; new information trickles slowly to their customer service reps. My customer service experiences with VZW all have been because of issues that they caused and they can be slow to resolve them.

Galaxy s4. I don't use my nexus 10 much at all so I sold it and now i'm going to sell my S4 and just use a note 3.

Coming from an iPhone 4 on verizon, about 90% sure I'll be switching to T-Mobile for the N3. This will be my first Android, but 3rd smartphone (my first was a Palm Pre). I really can't stand the locked-down and uncustomizable Apple ecosystem, and this small screen is killing me! No pre-order, just gonna walk into a store and walk out with one :)

Coming from an iPhone 5. Just tired of iOS and the small screen, I read a lot of emails on my phone and feel that the note 3 would be great for that.

Previous phones: HTC Incredible, Droid X, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S. Got the Galaxy S3 as a gift and gave it away, but I'm ready to come back to android.

I'm using the S4 now. I've had the S3, N2, HTC one, Iphone5 and many others.... I loved the N2 but screen was easier for me to read on S4. Looking forward to the improved resolution and the larger screen on the N3. I'm a true phone junkie....

Woah so many of y'all are coming from pretty new devices. I just finished my 2 year contract with the Samsung Galaxy S2, which I bought right after it was released.

A lot of us are phone fiends. I average 1-2 new phones a year. With a wife who doesn't care about phones, I take her upgrade each year and give her my phone (which is most of the time, pretty new). But yes, I'm surprised too by how many S4s are jumping and by how many already own a Note 2 and feel the need to upgrade.

am thinking about leaving Sprint and jumping to Verizon. I just feel like the coverage for Sprint is lacking and getting the Note 3 new, on a reliable network is tempting. I have been with Sprint for 10+ years, so with speeds that I have felt are fast are most likely lackluster compared to the other carriers.

2009, BB Curve 8330
2010, BB Bold 9700
2011, BB Torch 9800
2011-2012 Briefly tested a variety of LG and HTC Android and one Windows Phone 7 (post Windows Phone but pre-W8, but same Metro UI) Can't remember what exactly it was called.
2012-present, Motorola Atrix, Atrix4G, AtrixHD
2013, Note 3...Hoping to go three full years or more with this one. :-)
We shall see.

I'll be moving from a BlackBerry Z10. I'm drooling over the S-pen features!

So, why the departure from BB? And thoughts on today's news about going private? I'm a former BB addict who went rogue a couple years ago and been happier with Android ever since.

Galaxy S4. Other than the snap, crackle, pop DAC which ViperFX fixed, it is perfect. I just want it. [/spoiled]

I have an iPhone 5. I've been an iPhone user since 2007, and I've owned literally every iteration of the iPhone, with the exception of the 4S (went from 4 to 5).

I firmly believe what Steve Jobs said in 2007 was 100% accurate; that the iPhone was 5 years ahead of any competitor. However, since that time, the 5 years has come and gone and Apple is failing to innovate. The iPhone 5 was a refreshing "change" and I didn't believe that competitors were quite at the level to bring me into the android market.

However, in the past year, I think Samsong / Google / LG have stepped up their game tremendously.

Now I'm up for renewal on my line and I want to try something new. Maybe I stick with android, maybe I'm baited back to iOs with the iPhone 6. It will all depend on this Galaxy Note 3 and how well the experience suits me. I don't polarize like a lot of people. Whatever has the best product at the moment will draw my business. iOS, android, etc. I really don't give a damn. Just give me innovation, solutions, and aesthetics.

+1. I'm in the same exact boat and I feel the same way. Weather I go back to iOS all depends on my experience with the Note 3.

In the last year I went from a iPhone 4s , galaxy nexus, iPhone 5, HTC one, & recently sold my HTC one for $475 on craigslist for a nexus 4 16gb bought on craigslist for $140 to hold me over until I can get my hands on the note3.

I also was a huge apple guy from 07 on but once jobs died I've seen the software deteriorate rapidly (my iPad 4 has been having a lot of buggy issues over the last 5 months) & the fact they won't make the screen larger is a deal breaker for me.
