Froyo 2.2: Forgot PIN/Password?

I just updated my Epic 4G to Froyo 2.2.1, and I just realized something--remember that one option you got when you repeatedly failed to input your unlock pattern--the one where you could unlock with your Google account? Well, apparently with a PIN or password unlock, that feature is absent. Any insight? I'm just worried about what to do when I suddenly forget my PIN and can't unlock the handset. (Ruling out the option of flashing my phone, hard resetting, etc.)

I am also having the same issue with my echo, and the hard reset doesn't even work with drivers or just pressing buttons... does anyone know how to reset the phone?

I am having same problem after installing Ice cream sandwich on HpTouchpad tablet, sombody can HELPPP please!!!!

Well a hard reset on the device will not get you around the passcode. You will probably have to end up flashing it, you might contact your manufacturer and see if they have a way around it.
