Froyo delay: Who's to blame - samsung or the carriers?

With all the rumors floating around regarding the delay of froyo on galaxy S devices, I can't help but wonder whether Samsung is to blame or the carriers.

On one hand, Samsung has already pushed froyo on Galaxy S devices in Europe ... I do not know if there has been some problems with those updates. They pushed it out in Canada - with some problems. It appears Samsung is capable of pushing froyo on Galaxy S phones but why not on the devices on US carriers?

On the other hand, all the other carriers have had other phones upgraded to froyo. So it is not like they don't want their phones upgraded.

As for me, I am not even looking forward to froyo after I got DJ05. The only feature that froyo has that I don't have and I want to have is more language options for tts. And if is not there I can live with that. So unless the upgrade is to Android 3.0, I am not excited anymore.

I knew sooner or later someone would start the next level of complaints. Once the next up date is here someone would start. 3.0 really, is there phone out there that has 3.0? Great glad to hear it. Don't get me wrong but all I hear on this forum is complaint after complaint. The phone doesn't do this or i rooted it and now it freezes when I make coffee. I just don't get it. I am pretty smart guy most of the time. This is just my .02 like it or not, it's free.

Did you read my post at all? I am not complaining just trying to analyze the complaints.

HOLY CRAP!!!! are you kidding me?!?!?!?! we dont need another thread on this crap!! my time, as is everyone elses is valuble. i have a job, a wife, other family, and church. i try to help as much as i can because i know what its like to brick your phone for the first time, or have some other problem and not know how to fix it. its really annoying sifting through all these crap threads to find the people who actuall need help. it wastes my time and the time of everyone else who is here to help. there are like 500 other threads you can post these comments. we dont need another.

I wouldn't even begin to know how to analyze all the complaints and misinformation surrounding this issue. I thought rumors and speculation was out of control on the Apple side of the isle, but I don't think they can hold a candle to this.

We have narcissistic people registering on forums, purporting to be anonymous insiders and posting elaborate stories explaining who's to blame and the reasons behind their actions, only to be proven completely wrong a few days later. What would motivate someone to do something like this? Who are these people? Who knows?

We have people so eager for any information on this upgrade, that someone can post total speculation, and within a few days, it's been repeated so many times that people take it as factual information that came directly from Verizon or Samsung.

It's totally crazy, and unlike anything I've ever seen before.

Analyze it? Good luck!!! :p

lol easy dude... the thread is properly titled and you knew before you opened it that this guy did not need any help with his phone.

Whoa! I seem to have ruffled the feathers of quite a few people out here. It wasn't my intention to alienate or bug anyone but it seems I did and I apologize for it. The whole delay thing has bothered a whole bunch of customers and some of us are sick of hearing about it, while others are sick of waiting.
I was just trying to say that while I'm happy with my phone as it is, I cannot also deny that the issue is intriguing.
As for me, I'm running on Dj05. I did not even flash DL09 as I did not quite see why I should and I'm equally not excited about froyo. If a stable froyo rom surfaces in the long run, I will probably go with it. I did not post this thread to complain ....no no. that was not the point.

Got to admit that I am VERY curious as to whether or not business politics is involved in the mess. I know we'll probably never know what exactly happened, but my real question is if it's issues with modifications for the device, a problem with the carrier, or an issue of a full plate for samsung with so many projects. Does the Tab have Froyo yet?

While I find the idea that Samsung is busy with the next device and expects users to upgrade their device rather than get an update OTA an intriguing one, I don't think that's the real issue here. It's not the first time a company made a promise and gave a deadline that it was nowhere near meeting.
