Yes, in my experience OS updates and recovery typically have a long reboot cycle the first time booting up. After that it goes quick. I'd wait a good 10-15 min before rebooting.

Since you probably already shut it off after the reboot, I'd do a recovery wipe again, and then let it sit for 10-15 min. Are you waiting at the M or the eye?

It's at the M motorola logo, not the eye. I'll set it on a shelf on my desk and try to do other things for a while to let it do its thing.

did a factory wipe and restarted, my marketplace has all my downloaded apps and reinstalled them all automatically... cool! Made me happy, actually I think it used titanium back up that I only had installed on my old droid but not my droid X??? strange

does anyone else have a bug with the google search widget? I have the widget in the middle of the screen and as usual when I use it, the widget moves to the top of the screen. However, the widget stays up there even when I'm done and covers up my clock widget.

Another thing i noticed was that the music controls on the lock screen are now lower. actually they are right above the unlock and volume sliders. Would have been nice if it was kept up higher.

I also def think the JIT is not working on this build

In what way?

Meaning will we still get it OTA or will we have to manually install it like we did for the leak. Or maybe even revert back to 2.1 first.

Man, If I were Moto I would hold off Froyo as long as possible just to read these threads. They are way to entertaining to kill them with the actual update. Just think - after the update these threads turns into... "FROYO - What was all the hype about?", "WTF - Moto, why did YOU pump this up so much", "GPS bug still not fixed - THEY said it would be", "DROID X - The Verizon Flagship? How Could It Be - FROYO wasn't stock", "I'm dumping my DX for the FLAGSHIP Samsung!", "BLUR still stinks on 2.2 - someone told me it wouldn't!".

Ok... Froyo is up and running! My quadrant scores are only moderately better than 2.1 (~1350) but my linpack was just 14.2!!
Now for the problems-
1) My favorite app autostarts seems to have disappeared from the market, despite support for 2.2 (according to the devs website).
2) SetCPU has a VERY wrong scheme with the max clock speed at 600 mhz

All my album artwork is now MIA.

I only have a few albums with artwork on my droid x but the ones that did are still there. in fact when you click on the album the tracks show up with a light background of the album art

All of my album art stayed.

Quadrant score of 1420, marginally better than before.
Also 14.05 Linpack score.

Browser is faster & menus are faster.

Launcherpro plus works fine and has improved response especially going in and out of helicopter view.

Beautiful Widgets works fine and the weather popup loads faster.

Better battery manager. Has 3 preset profiles and 1 custom.

Did I mention its realllllllly fast? I didn't reset my device and all my apps carried over fine. Just like a normal OTA update. Don't know why everyone is preaching reset/wipe.

anyone else having some serious issues with there dialer and contacts? Mine is acting very strange.

with facebook syncd my contacts page is almost unusable, I only have about 200 contacts and it get slugish and reacts in strange ways when clicking on contacts.

I unsynced and giving it another go...

Seem to be getting intermittent lock ups while interfacing with the phone so I'm going to go ahead and do the wipe.

Wiping it seems to have worked out whatever glitch there was. I was getting lock ups when trying to scroll through music or while typing on the swype keyboard. Back to original smoothness now.

All is well except my "corporate directory search" widget disappeared and I cannot find it in the options. Anyone else s disappeared. I already deleted the account and set it up again.

yeah my contacts are still having serious issues, I think it is linking funny with facebook... for instance when I select a contact who is linked to facebook I click unlink and it gives me 4 different names no unlink it from, and right now I can't even scroll on my contacts page.

edit: looked around a bit and went into running services and shut down contacts cacheservice and it started running fine... did a reboot on my phone and seems to doing ok now...
