In case you don't know, the Droid X has th ability to "pull" an available update to the device rather than wait for it to be pushed to it. You should be able to do this soon. Go to settings>about phone>system updates.

It is more important to me. I always have my phone on vibrate so I don't care about ringer volume. I have turned the phone the wrong way to try to go to landscape mode many times.

Coming from the storm, I hate that we dont have unlimited rotation. I NEED Froyo.

i don't know if they do...at the very least the update is quick and you can just run it when you get it.

Apparently Moto's definition of news is anything known by so many people its pointless to ignore it.

Be sure to pull this update on your own and don't wait for it to be sent to your phone. According to the "knowledgeable" people at Verizon, this update will be sent out alphabetically. And if you are someone like me, with a Z last name, I could be waiting 2 weeks for it. Again, this is according to a supervisor at Verizon Tech Support.

But that all means nothing since the X can pull the update. So basically my point is, PULL IT!

Today is the last day of summer. By Matt stating that they are "ontrack" for a summer release that means they have until 12:00 am tonight to get the update out otherwise they run into "early fall" territory. Sooooo....hopefully with his cryptic message it means that later today the release will come out.

The other good news is that since Verizon update the PDF with an actual build number for the update that everything passed their approval otherwise why bother updating the PDF with a beta build number....

Hopefully by tomorrow morning we will all have 2.2!
