Froyo ETA Set

can anyone on here attempt to look for updates by going to settings>about phone>system updates? mine is greyed out.

Have to wonder why some of us have a greyed out "System Updates" while others can press it and after a while receive the "up to date" message.

Anyone know why this is happening?

Received my DX last week and have not activated it yet with Verizon. (I was waiting for the Froyo update to be released before I started the 30 day clock ticking). I have been using it connected to my home and work networks.

When I go to the Settings/About phone menu the "System updates" is not bright white like some of the other options on the menu (ie Status, Legal information, Safety information). If I tap on the "System updates" option it does not turn red like some of the other options (that are bright white letters) but instead turns a light gray color. I also see no messages like other have posted here when they press the "System updates" option.

My question is, when other DX owners press on "System updates" what colors, messages, etc appear on your DX?

Guess I may have to activate my phone before pulling down the Froyo update.
Looking forward to seeing what others think of Froyo on their DXs in the next couple days.

If you haven't activated your phone, then nothing applies to Verizon and the update. It would be a mandatory thing before you get involved in the update.

Former Stormer here, as well. It was so nice to get a phone that worked as intended out of the box!

I've been (im)patiently waiting for the update, but it's nice to think that what I'm waiting for are honest improvements on top of an already solid device, as opposed to "When will this darned thing work?".

I remember eagerly awaiting OS5, being promised the world, and being disappointed... Got fed up when the same song and dance started playing out for OS6. I can't wait for Froyo, but this thing is already lightyears ahead of my previous and I doubt I could be much happier.

EDIT: Ok, I'm a bit happier now. Froyo is here! DOWNLOADING!
