Froyo Update Coming to an end?

Well guys it looks like froyo is going to finish updating phones by Christmas. So any phones promised to receive 2.2,well their time is running up.
Do you think phones promised to get 2.2 are actually going to get is?(Mytouch 3g, mytouch 3g slide,htc desire,Droid,and some other promised phones)

I've been running Froyo on my Droid for a month now so no worries for me. I think it's coming OTA for the Droid next week. I don't see why it wouldn't really.

How is their "time" running up? They still have 6 months to deliver 2.2 to us. They have plenty of time.

i think the vanilla stock android devices should still be getting froyo before christmas. as for the sense version, who knows when that will be released. could be the end of the year or could even be next year (at the rate htc puts out updates). at that time 2.2 will not even be as desirable since gingerbread is supposed to be released before that. idk. i think htc needs to get a team together that is effective and efficient that can release updates sooner than 6 months from the original release. look how long it took the hero to get 2.x. i know it is hard working on their part but who at some point they need to realize time is money especially since android is becoming bigger every day and more manufactures would love to jump in on that boat and take some of htc's market share.

Brett, please correct me if I am wrong, but didn't HTC put a update plan out and say something on the lines of "All HTC devices will hopefully be at version 2.2 before Christmas" as well?

I think I remember a news story about that a few days/weeks ago.

Yes and no. I think most will but I don't think the g1 and dream (mt3g) will get it. I wish I had the link to where I read that but it was a while back.
