Full screen music on lock screen

Earlier this week I was listening to music, and when my phone was locked there was a full screen music player (not the music lockscreen setting), where I could swipe left or right to change the song, or press a lock button to return to the normal lock screen. I can't seem to get back to this mode though, is there a simple shortcut I'm missing?

Sounds like the lock screen to me. Shows album cover over the clock/weather widget. The album isn't full screen but between it and the clock/weather it is about 80%.
