[FullHDMI] Official FullHDMI discussion

Hello thank you do much for your hard work. I git the soo yesterday and the update this morning and its still not working. I have Sony bravia and a Lg47 can anyone help?

I'm curious. I tried the updated app tonight on the Sony Bravia here at work and it's still a no go. As soon as I plug my phone into that thing the screen goes black, then to the Evo 4G boot screen then that screen just sits there until a battery pull. As I've stated before, my 47 and two 32 LGs as well as my Samsung all work fine. I tried on a 50 and 55 LG as well, no problems on any of those. It just will not work with the Sony; weird.

Lol wow guy, its ok!! He will get to us both just give him time. But to answer your question, check post#1 where it says uprooted software support DONE soooooo that's pretty written as well if you want to get technical. As farms rooting my phone, I choose not to...personal preference just like you chose to root yours. It's not that serious of a problem bro. Enjoy the remainder of your night.

My preference to root my phone is not "personal" - its the same obvious reasons all other dozens and hundreds of thousands of evo owners made.
Your phone is literally crippled right now - it has a poor locked 30fps frame rate, making many screens look like a slideshow, it has pathetic battery life and performance, because of all the Sprint and HTC bloatware running in background, which you cannot remove because your NAND64 is locked and /system is inaccessible. And you cannot install 90% of real good apps from the market
You don't have a "personal preference" to not root your phone, because such reason does not exist. What you have is either lack of technical knowledge & understanding of the advantages of rooting or lack of technical ability to do it, or both. Not even warranty void argument is valid for your defense because flashing back an original, unrooted firmware and bringing the phone to the default factory state is as easy as eatting a cone of ice cream thanks to the great minds like toastcfh...People like you impend the progress of the tech community and should either educate themselves or step away from places like Android Central and XDA forums

^ who cares??

Let's try to keep this discussion around the app.

So im going to buy an HDTV very soon, are there any tv's that this app is not working with?

Hi, I have CM6 so I bought this app as soon as I read that it works in aosp roms. Unfortunately it does not seem to work. Does it even work in CM6? My buddy has a sense rom and it works perfect. Kudos to dev!. Pls let me know if it does work in CM. Thx

I can see you just want to argue at this point so this will be my last post on the matter so say whatever and have at it but you have to know that on this forum yes I may be the minority as far being non rooted but overall there are millions of people just like me who are willing to spend money on this app. So it would benefit the developer more to get this aspect of the app working so that it can be as profitable as possible rather than work on a particular feature on the rooted side. I've been mote than respectable to you so I would appreciate the same courtesy. My technical knowledge with phones is a mute issue. Sorry Im to busy getting my to Ph.D and successfully running my own million dollar company to learn the latest tricks of the trade...Truthfully I just wanted to know why the HDMI port was useless and stumbled up this forum through good and evo so once again have a beautiful day!

I agree I too work and go to school and don't have time to learn all the tech stuff. But that is why Sam can sell his product. That's capitalism. I use a skill I possess to earn money so I can pay others to perform a task I cannot. Either way Sam rocks and so do all the other developers that make it possible for people like me to enjoy my device

Have you tried turning off any image enhancement features on the TV?

Can you describe what it is doing different from your friends phone? It does work, in CM6 and CM7 just with audio through the phone all the time, and no custom kernel yet for hardware support.

It very well could be that specific model. Have you tried another Sony TV? I know that with my Sharp Aquos that until I updated it's firmware I got the same thing.

I tested it on a fresh install of 6.1.2 w/ gapps about 5min ago with no issues AND HW acceleration. I suggest backing up your apps and and doing the same. I know that, if at any point, you tried any other HDMI solutions you will need to do this to avoid issues.

Lets keep this on topic, and lets all settle down.

After a long weekend and the trolling/flaming I waded through last night elsewhere, this would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys,
The unrooted functionality continues to be an issue for now. The app was tested on an unrooted device and worked great prior to release, but the unrooted device was rooted in the past and retained some elements not available on an out-of-the-box EVO. As I am still working on a solution, I need the few people that purchased the app and are unrooted to please email orrebmas.dev@gmail.com so I can keep you updated on the progress and assess the magnitude of this. The app's market page has changed to reflect the root requirement since yesterday morning, thanks Lokifish for pointing it out and massive help trying to find a way around unrooted restrictions.

Am pretty late to the game on this one - but may as well toss in my 2c worth :)

Tested the new app on my Evo, running Fresh Rom (latest) and the stock Fresh Rom kernel (didn't want to play around with a SBC kernel, will go back to modified ones if a non-SBC one is released or if Fresh kernel gets the modifications (I can dream right?))

Anyways - quick test on my small lcd tv was pretty dang amazing.
For not having Hardware mode on, it was fast and slick. Homescreen transitions were very smooth and followed the phone in real time, and while I didn't test my PS1 emu again (FPSE) I did load up a small game with a lot of on-screen motion (Inflate the Panda)
Despite having over 64 sprites randomly roaming the screen, it still maintained smooth and handled without any noticeable lag :)

Great job Sam - for all that you've done and continue to do!
And, thank you all those who helped (and continue) to do such detailed and extensive testing. Without all your input backing Sam's tests there's no way this could have come out so fast.

Here's to Sam, the Tester Team, and AndroidCentral :)
Till All Are One

If 720p support is something you already know how to implement and there are no major obstacles - perhaps you would consider spending few hours and adding it now and mess around with unrooted devices later? It seems like it may take a long time to resolve those issues and there is no reason for unrooted devices to obstruct development of other features, right?

The only issue with 720p is the minor flicker. To fix the flicker the drivers HAVE to be modified which hinders the "any kernel/any ROM" feature of the app.
I already put it in the app but with an "experimental" tag on it. It will be release with next update.

Any chance you can flip the app into landscape? I am running Sense 2.0 and I'm spoiled with seeing so many apps and phone screen displays in landscape

Will be glad to help with beta testing for 720p fix - let me know... Netarchy Toastmod-4.3.2-cfs-sbc-havs-more kernel is the most popular one, so if you add HDMI code on top of that rather than stock - it would be very helpful and much appreciated.
