functional facebook app please!

Any ideas for a functional Facebook app for the Android operating system? The stock one is fine except that it rarely works. Constantly getting the infamous null error. Tried Bloo but it's a pos because the news feed didn't show anything newer than yesterday and it won't let me see anything on my wall. Are we relegated to having to use the browser?

It will get improved. Even if the developers are Iphone fans, Mark Zuckerberg(the founder of Facebook) got rid of his Iphone because he said it sucked and got an Android phone. About a week later we got 3 improvements in a row. I think they are working on push notifications for facebook android app as well as video loading like Iphone has.

It does suck that my friends that use Places are using iPhones. I can't even check in anywhere through the browser.

you can check in through the browser, you just have to be on standard view and not mobile view. it's a pain in the as* but it works.

Download the beta version of Bloo 1.5, only 1.4.4d is in the market but this version does not support chat but the beta 1.5 version does. If you are uncomfortable downloading a beta version not approved by the market then download GoChat for fb chat services and still use bloo as it has the best fb notifaction system including settings on how often to check from every 1 min to 30 min of all the apps I have tried.

Bloo 1.5 apk can be downloaded here from xda developers Bloo 1.5 W/ Facebook Chat - xda-developers (note if you download 1.4 from the market to try it out then decide to download 1.5 be sure to unistall 1.4 first)

I don't know that they heart iPhone. The lead FB for Iphone developer quit about a year ago after being frustrated with Apple's overbearing arbitrary app process.

I actually liked the Blackberry app for Facebook. Notifications worked pretty good. Notifications on Android app are non existant.

You can do it easily at touch.facebook.com right next to the box What's on your mind is the little places icon, click it, and walla.

And now it's not again. You wouldn't think that coming up with a functional facebook app or widget would be this hard. Not having facebook on your device is like having a car with no functioning stereo. Come on!

I installed this but "Get a Code!" errors on the m.facebook.com site

That is odd that you got the error after the get code option. Its required for bloo to have acces to yor fb account. Maybe there is a way to get the code from your desktop? You might want to post your issue on the xda site to see if there is a fix. I know when I clicked get code, it opened touch.facebook.com or m.facbook.com can not remeber, I granted it access and then got the code and typed it in and done.

Bloo has by far the best notifications for fb for android. The only thing I could recommend if you can not get the code is to download 1.4 from the market and use another program for chat like Go!Chat or ebuddy messenger. To be honest the UI of Bloo 1.5 chat is kind of blah anyway but the notifactions are point on.

both the facebook app and the touch facebook page on the browser are far less then ideal. i use facebook daily to keep in touch with people as well as for business purposes. between not recieving notifications and the touch site stating that notifications are unavailable arent really cutting it...and bloo is kind of a bust. facebook worked flawlessy on my storm compared to the experience ive had with the droid x i received less than a week ago. kudos to RIM in this case...
