if VM usa claims its cheap unlimited data plans costing them to lose money, they can just put a 2gb data cap to $25 plan subscribers and keep its same price. I am moderate data user, I never use more than 2gb a month. If they keep offer every one unlimited data usage, some tether ppl will abuse it and use 10gb a month.

if they are gonna raise from 25 to 35 bucks, they'd better give more voice minutes. As voice minutes are cheap these days.

Boost mobile unlimited plan will look more attractive if VM indeed raises its price this month.

You realize that the cheap boost plan is only effective after 18 months of service?
I looked at Boost because I also was told you could activate Sprint phones on that network.
But to get the 35 dollar plan you have to pay on time for 18 months before it will be that price.

The price increase is gonna take a toll on many of us if they dont allow us to keep our current plan pricing until we change plans. This has been talked about for a long time. It was even mentioned back shortly after the Triumph was released and the person was told he was a idiot. I guess everybody that doubted and called him names should apologize now.

While both prepaid carriers do run on the Sprint network Boost is owned by Sprint while VMobile is owned by the Virgin Company based in the UK. Sprint is happy either way, but Vmobile would be sad if they started losing customers. FALSE

Um, no. Boost and Virgin Mobile USA are both 100% owned by Sprint.

Still cheap, but that's so stupid. I don't see why they can't leave it the way it is. I wouldn't mind if it felt like I got good 3G speeds in my area. VM tells me that I get 3G but sometimes it is so horribly slow I just wait until I'm around wifi.

I understand how it works, like I siad I looked into getting it.
However I see people saying its a better deal..well technically it is. But initially its not. The plan is 15 bucks more then the current cheap Vm plan and only goes down in time. I also believe if people jump to boost you will see the same thing happen there. The only thing is I dont think you can activate just any sprint phone on the boost network. Atleast that is what I was told, it had to be a boost branded phone just like we have to have a virgin branded phone.

It does look like boost has a Samsung Galaxy phone now, so it might not be too bad.

My ex-wife got an Evo 4g, obviously boost isn't 4g, and paid a guy like 80 bucks to make it work on boost mobile. I looked into doing the steps but it's a pain in the butt. She got the phone for 100 from her brother brand new in the box so 180 wasn't bad lol. Boosts phones suck though especially with Virgin getting more android options soon. I haven't heard about boost getting more phones yet.

It does look like boost has a Samsung Galaxy phone now, so it might not be too bad.

I hadn't seen this part when I read your post...maybe boost is becoming a viable option...

I know they run off the same network but for some reason I've heard horrible story's about boost mobile in my area. A majority of people around here use Virgin mobile over boost as well. Maybe it's just the bandwagon effect, and the cheap plans.

Just saying, before vm was big in my area an everyone I knew had boost all I ever heard was complaining, and still do. I just don't see why there plan is so much more then vm

Anyways, Verizon's plans are basically $90 plus if you want a smartphone, so it's still stupidly cheaper.

My current plan with Verizon (contract ends 8/7) is just under $60 for 900 minutes, 250 texts, and 5 "Friends and Family" or whatever it's called. This is with a basic phone and no data plan -- and a Microsoft discount. (Former employee but the discount stays until I cancel the contract.)

I *love* my Optimus V with VM. I was trying it out this last month to see if this is what I want to switch to. It is. I just upped the plan to the $40 1200 minute plan to start on the 22nd. I still can't believe how inexpensive even the "unlimited" plan is or will be. $55 - $60 a month is incredible.

VM will be releasing it at $300 with a limit to each store of 5 per 2 week period and plan to raise it to $349 or more after the first 30 days. Sorry I can't offer a sweet link to this info but its kind of a family leak. Its not sure but a rumor to also have a $10 line premium required so $35 minimum monthly.
