I had heard about the face being always on. I like that idea. I have had many times where I turn my wrist, and the face doesn't show up.

That idea probably isn't what you think it is. If the screen/backlight were "always on", then the battery would be dead in 45 min or something. I think they are relaying bad info or something.... it is very curious. Perhaps they mean the LCD with no backlight? (Would that even be useful?)
