G button on pixel launcher and anything else in that row across all other homescreens (like the weather widget shortcut) is at times not responsive to touch! usually happens after being off in standby for awhile, it takes a couple taps before it launches. anyone else having that issue?

That launcher was last updated in 2015, therefore it's filled with a lot of bugs. I suggest deleting it and download the Nova Launcher, much more customization options and updated often.

thanks. i should've worded it better. this is the G button that replaced the google search bar on the pixel launcher that is sometimes unresponsive along with anything else in that top row across all other homescreens. it has become a minor annoyance and was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue. i fixed the original post.

Sounds like a potential hardware problem. Does that part of the screen function correctly when inside an app? If not, I would definitely look into a warranty replacement.

If apps work okay but not launcher screens, try a power off/on cycle and see it that has any impact.

i got scared it might be hardware too but the top part of the screen does work normally in apps and everything else. it only happens on my homescreens which has me believing it may a software issue. i've done reboots and eventaully the issue comes back up. as much as i hate to do it i think i'll reset the phone versus waiting for a software update since i havent been able to find online anyone else with the same issue.

An issue that goes away on reboot and "eventually comes back up" is nearly always caused by a bad app. You are going to need to do some experimenting and analysis to figure out which one is causing the problem.

before u do a factory reset try doing an app data reset of Pixel launcher.

to do that go to settings-->apps--> find google now launcher-->storage-->clear cache & also click clear data(important part)

great tip! thought about uninstalling/reinstalling the pixel launcher but that option wasnt available, didnt even think to clear app cache and data. after testing all afternoon it seems to have killed the bug! many thanks!

sorry to say the issue has come back. it's random. sometimes it takes several taps to get the weather widget to launch and same with the g search button. it's weird, it only affects that top row. for instance on my second homescreen i have a calendar widget and the part that shows the date sometimes takes several taps to launch as well. place it anywhere else below the top row and it launches the app immediately. im gonna factory reset next ugh

Um, what calendar widget?

the google calendar agenda widget. the bottom scrollable part works fine. the top part is what sometimes takes several taps to launch as does any other widget i place there. the new g search button, the weather widget across it, anything along that top row in any homescreen will take several taps to launch. not all the time though, its random, and increasingly frustrating.
