How do I get the clock to show when the home and lock screen sleep?

I just picked up a Moto g Pure for my wife. It's on Android 11. I can't figure out how to get the clock screen saver to show on the blank black screen when the phone is sleeping. If I put it on the charger it does come on. However if she places the phone down and it goes to sleep the screen stays black. How do I get it to show?

In that case, she'd have to look for some 3rd party solution. The Screen Saver feature is only active when the phone is charging or docked, so if she's setting it down somewhere without charging, the Screen Saver won't be on.

What is driving me crazy is she has the same settings as I do with my Android 12 Pixel 3a

You mean she has the Always Show Time and Info option in the Settings>Display>Lock screen menu? I think that is probably a Pixel-specific feature.

You are correct, that option is not available for her. I hope Moto rolls out the upgrade to Android 12 soon.

Thanks for your help 👍

It's possible that option will never be available in some phones. It's kind of an Always on Display feature and it could be a battery hog in models with LCD display.

It's been awhile since I've used Moto devices, but I recall only seeing the clock when the devices were charging. I don't recall being able to see the clock otherwise, like I do on my current Samsung device with AOD.
