G3 Battery Life experience. Whats yours?

Hi, no you don't Need to root your phone...you just turn all functions from it of and so McAfee doesn't run... it is always running making scan when you don't Need and all games or data in Internet it makes scan all the time burning the cores of the phone...my G3 was getting over 50* overheated and on battery (standby) 5h max.
Now i use it normally and at end of the day i have 60%.

My observations on battery life so far in my 8 days of owning is somewhat a mixed bag. I get about 3-5 hours of screen on time daily.
Note: During the work week I use navigation for a little over an hour per day.

Here is my 5 day work week...

On my first day at work (gets terrible signal - 103dbm) using the G3 I got 9h 22min at 49% screen and 2h 31min of screen-on with 1% remaining.

A day later I turned on the WiFi at work to get better signal and got 10h 26min at 50% screen and 3h 1min screen-on with 25% remaining.

Next day, I got 13h 45min at 53% screen and 4h 16min screen-on with 2% remaining.

Next day, 11h 14min at 50% screen and 3h 10min screen-on with 3% remaining. But I also had 8% time without signal.

And yesterday, I got 18h 5min at 48%screen and 2h 54m screen-on with 2% remaining. But with 25% time without signal.

Does this fall in place with others normal battery life?

I'm thinking it may be but looking to get others opinions. Got 6 days before my 14 day return period ends.

I am pleasantly surprised!

Depends on the day, but my G3's battery doesn't last as long as my G2 did. However, over the weekend, it last a day which is all I need. We'll see how it goes this week at work.

I played with it A LOT this weekend. Had 2 BBQ's to go to and both days was showing off this device to the blind sheep....I mean family and friends that have no idea that this phone even exists! Many of them were impressed but very confused that the phone wasn't a Samsung device, lol!! Both days (Sat. & Sun.) at the end of the day, I was left with 20-30% battery life left. I'm getting great battery life!

I've been happy with the battery life and find it similar to my G2. A couple of days I saw heavier drain and each time found an app using a lot of battery. One of the main culprits was Sidebar launcher which kept using 20-25% even though I was not using it. I stopped it, and all is fine now.
Today I had moderate usage, took off charge at 6am. It's now 10:45pm and I have 35% left. My G2 varied and there would be days with the same left and days I was at 15% by this time.

So far it's not that far off from my Note 3. Today I got 15 hours of use before needing a charge with moderate use.

I'm going 24 hours between charge and I could go longer. I'm consistently getting 5 hours screen time. I'm setting my brightness to 50% auto and I've used battery doctor to make sure I'm not running 50 apps. I also use Timerrific to make sure wifi, data, and bluetooth is off at night. I'm getting better battery life than my Nexus 4.

That's funny, usually people say they get four hours plus with Battery Doctor on other phones and are proud of this. Then they uninstall Battery Doctor and discover a much longer battery life...

Reviews of Battery Doctor are mostly good.

I just downloaded it to try out.. Anyone else have experience with the app?

I've found I always get much better battery life without those so called battery saver apps. The newer versions of android and the New devices do a good job and conserving battery life.

I started this thread as i was worried about my G3 batt life coming from M8. After trying everything, hard reset, settings, apps etc i consistently sit at 3.5hrs to 4hrs On screen time at best. Even with data manually turned off amd sync off, as long as the screen is on (i do a lot of reading), that screen sucks juice.

Camera is a tad bit slower to focus than M8 (yes its true). But camera quality is great.

So for me, id rather have a tD bit smaller screen which lasts all day... Went back to HTC ONE M8 and i couldnt be happier...

I couldn't go back to that over hyped 4mp camera, slippery oversized shell and sealed battery. I get 5 ish hours of screen on time with my g3.

Turn off 4G and battery life improves. Google Play has multiple apps. Enjoy this wonderful phone!
