G3 Battery Life experience. Whats yours?

Dropping back to 10 to 11 hours total usage with 3 hours screen time. Really weird and frustrating. Any one else care to share?

This is worrying. I beg your pardon for suggesting it, but is it possible that your methods of measuring might be rather rough-and-ready, and that you are in fact getting much the same battery life now as earlier? Otherwise, it's worrying.

I just use the battery settings stats. Was bad at first if you are following my thread. It improved after a few cycles. However, it has now gone back to really short battery life. Two things of note, I just started using the circle case and also the wireless charger.

If your use of case and wireless charging are coincident with reduced battery life it looks like there's a connection...though often life tricks us in these ways. But assume there is. It's unlikely to be the circle case. So it's the w.c. It's hard to believe that w.c. puts a sort of inferior quality of electricity through, but perhaps not impossible to believe that the battery behaves differently when charged this way...has a reduced capacity, say. This is where we need people who actually KNOW what they're talking about and I'm afraid that counts me out. I hope you solve it. Have you tried a normal mains charge to see if it's better?

I will run a test this week logging all stats each day and trying out circle case, no case, wireless charging, mains charging, etc. Will give regular updates. .

I hoped it would perform as well as the g2 but I don't think it will. What I do know is that that will outperform my M 7 as far as battery goes

I have the m7 and am on the fence.
How much better battery life do u think the g3 will get over the m7? Like 10%, 20%, 35%.

I had the M8 before the G3. M8 had amazing battery life. Easily 5 hours screen time

2 concerns on LG G3: radio strength and battery life

I am looking to upgrade. But the strength of the radios and battery life are both important to me.

This phone seems to have nailed everything, but I would swap that display for a 1080 if it is truly draining the batter that bad.

Reviews and reports are all over the place? Will screen time outlast a moto X or Galaxy S4 ?

How is the radios ? Often overlooked on spec sheets, but again, signal strength is at the top of my list. Motorola phones have good radios. Samsungs seem weak. I am not sure about LG.

Any information folks can give first hand on these two items are appreciated.

Re: 2 concerns radio strength and battery life

I've got awesome signal strength. Can't really comment on battery yet.

Re: 2 concerns radio strength and battery life

When talking about signal strength can we mention what carrier and which model? I'm curious to see if the US ones are any better

I'm more or less getting the same. Although I have auto brightness high at 80ish. I can get 4 hrs screen time..But not higher.

Also in the Philippines...globe telecom. Could be the signal. I remember with my old phone, I noticed a huge difference in battery life when I used it in Taiwan where the signal was awesome.

Globe signal isn't that good I guess. Especially if you have it at auto lte/3g...you'll notice it'll keep switching a lot..probably what's draining batt.

Also using the case and wireless.charger. less the charger...

Try setting your network to wdcma or gsm only. You'll see an increase in battery life. It's our local lTelco...:-(

That's an excellent time to drain ratio. My S4 loses 60-70% unplugged overnight.
That is horrible. My S4 looses 4% overnight at worse. You have a rogue app or something causing such insane drain while in sleep mode. Sounds like it is not sleeping.

Ok after two days both consistent results.

With 5% battery remaining:
Screen time = 3h 50m
Total usage or on time = 10h 30m
Android OS wake = 8h

50% Auto brightness, sync on, push on, knock code on, network auto, using circle case and wireless charging. Power saver off.

I restarted the phone after fully charged. No high consuming apps in battery stats. Screen then Android OS are biggest consumers.

Im gonna try making a few changes today. Is this close to what others here are getting?

Im going

Re: 2 concerns radio strength and battery life

I am on AT&T and have the 32/3 variation. I have only had the phone at home for 3 hours so I can not comment on battery life. I have 3 or 5 bars in my home for signal strength which is one less that my son's Lumia 920.

You may notice fast drain at first I did, but it did settle after a couple of cycles and now its in the good bracket :-)

Re: 2 concerns radio strength and battery life

I don't have the phone yet but signal strength is always hard to judge. Its always going to be dependent on where you live and your carriers service in that area. Comparing bars on different phones isn't really that reliable since theres no standard for phone manufacturers and carriers when they report bars in the software. If I remember correctly several years ago apple had a problem with customers complaining about reception quality and bars so their solution was to do a software update that made the bars appear higher than the previous factory setting.
