This a feature I know used to work because I tried it at Best Buy. Now that I am actually considering buying a g3 I cannot get it to work on any display model at several vzw store locations. Has some update disabled the feature or newer g3 don't have it or what?

I did check to make sure google keyboard was installed and auto correction off but no dice on g3.

The only phones it works on in the vzw store are the motorolas. All motorolas have it. No I do not want a moto but is there a way to get red underlining spelling errors to work in a new vzw g3? I do not want to spend 700 for a phone lacking this feature. Thanks!

It's under Language & Input > Spell Checker on the Nexus 5 I'm using at the moment, if that's any help.

I know it works on nexus so that is no help. I know how to access settings as in op

Don't you have Google keyboard installed? I had this problem when it was installed on my phone. I deleted and the red lines are gone.

As mentioned in op I made sure google.keyboard is installed and turned off auto correction. This works in moto phones. Cannot get it to work on g3. Do any of you have stock unrooted g3 with all vzw that this feature works?

Mine works fine with stock LG keyboard.

You understand I don't mean suggestions or autocorrection. I mean after you make a spelling error and ignore it the spelling remains incorrect but has a red line under it.

Are you vzw? Stock unrooted?

Could you show me a screenshot?

Thanks.

Here is an exampal of what I mean.

I have the Note 4 (accidently allowed update to KitKat) Uninstalling Google Keyboard removed the red line from under 'incorrect' spellings. Shame the update didn't include being able to lock clippings to clipboard!
