G3 shattered from 10cm drop??

Sorry to hear. Hopefully you get your phone back fully fixed with no more issues. Best of luck.

Mine shattered too. Dropped while kneeling! It was barely a foot off the floor. I didn't expect any damage, but the screen was completely hosed.

I have at&t phone insurance (asurion), but that's still a $200 deductible. I don't think the phone should have shattered from such a minor drop.

LG, care to comment?

While $400 to fix is insulting enough, I think charging you $60 to send you back your broken phone is the worst. Awful.

Seriously, that's straight robbery.

I will say this again about warranties. People need to look into squaretrade. 99 dollars for 2 years and only a 75 dollar deductible and they always have 30 percent off coupons.

They are good. My only problem with them it's I never have my device for that long. To justify it. I normally don't have s device longer then a few months.

Yep, the company repairing my unit right now has monopoly in Norway. They do whatever they want. Thinking about it i'm actually supporting them by trying to keep my warranty... I should have broken the warranty, repaired it myself and enjoyed a rooted phone. To late now..
Yeah, that's robbery. All repair shops IMO are glassholes! (pun intended), but this is what I would have done....

Since it would have cost me 400$ to repair it, I would have paid the extra 60$ to get it back unrepaired. Then I would have bought a new one outright for 600$....so 600$ new and 60$ for one that is fubar'ed for a total of 660$. Then I would have bought a new screen for 40$ (now at 700$) and etc. off ebay and tried to repair the broken one. If I fix it, now I have two working G3's and would have sold the one that broke for 400$ leaving a net total for the new one at 300$. If I can't fix it, then at least I would have an extra battery back and battery.

That I can understand. Only thing I can suggest if you are person who likes to switch devices frequently is to bite the bullet and buy a decent case for your phones to help protect against any accidents.

exactly lol

That really is very very poor. HTC offers free replacement of screen in first six months.

Sounds like everyone of those scenarios would be my fault so... Couldn't really say anything to be upset about it.

I am OCD so wing hands grabbing phone? Not even if 911 was calling :P... And I don't out it near the drinks on the desk for that very reason. Also when taking out it out of my pocket I always fully grab the entire phone with my hand.. Not the edges so it can slip.

Same here - always careful to hold the whole phone. Never dropped one yet!

Did you have it in a case? A fall of a bare phone at any height can shatter a screen, depending on the point of impact. That's why I use a black dual layer case. It makes the phone look generic but I could care less about how it looks.

i htink you get a refund based on how many months left when cancelled

I dropped mine from 5' onto a wood floor without a problem. Verus Quick Circle case with a iCarez screen protector. WHEW!!!!

Even if for me it's to much of a hassle to keep requesting refunds with as fast as I switch phones. Wish it was a option they are good though.

These phones are super sensitive, I dropped mine the other day from hip level face first with a case and screen protector and this is what happened, I know for a fact it can't be any gorilla glass on the G3, because my note 3 use to get dropped all the time same case and screen protector with no damage, so be very careful with your G3 because it has cheap glass on it

i believe GG3 just helps with scratches and keeping the glass from going everywhere when it breaks, so it will shatter but not fly all over

Yea, its infuriating how they treat their costumers. I really want the warranty because I have never owned a smartphone that wasn't faulty yet.. Yet they insult me with charging 10x what the parts needed to fix it cost. Just great!

Costumers? Do they have people making little costumes for the phones? And they're treating them badly? How sad.

You've never had a phone that wasn't faulty? I think you might want to step back and look at all the bad phones you had and consider the common denominator in them all-you. Lemons happen, but to say that every single phone you've ever had was a lemon...sorry that sounds a bit fishy.

Calling BS on this, 10cm ? next the OP will tell us that it broke just by turning in over LOL.......... yes it will break but from much higher heights
