G4 battery is worse on marshmallow.

Battery usage is not very good on this phone and MM is worse so I just downgraded back to LP. Still not good either way if I use the phone for any amount of time during the day lol

So any time I've had a major upgrade, I keep it on a short leash.... if I start to see things so south, FDR.

I had some battery issues what I did is first back up the phone then completed a factory wipe that seem to help
I suggest to wipe your phone after a major upgrade and also look at the poorly written apps that suck battery power
But it's a decent phone

I don't mean to sound like a broken record but have any of you folks with issues from the update done a factory reset or not RIGHT AFTER you updated? If any of you with issues have done so and are STILL having issues then the update is flawed with bugs and everyone who updated SHOULD have problems/issues. I just don't see that being the case.

I might curse it by saying this (knock on wood) but right now after this last update, my battery usage is pretty good. It's 58 hours since my last charge and there's still 57% remaining. Now I'm a very light phone user but to me that's more in line with what I think I should be seeing.

I posted in another thread that I've had my G4 a little over a week now. I've only been using it as my main phone for two days now and yesterday I discovered I couldn't last from 9:00am till 4:30pm on fairly heavy use without stopping before it died.

Today I barely used the phone in the morning, and by lunchtime it was below 70%. I listened to a podcast after lunch and here are the results...

This is ridiculous, I'm going to try a factory reset tonight but if it doesn't solve anything it makes me think the phone must be faulty.

I'll be happy to try and help but I can't see the pic you posted and I'm guessing it was just 1 pic and I'd need more if you would like the help.

When you got your phone did it have Marshmallow or Lollipop installed. In other words did you upgrade to Lollipop? Right away or after a week? If it came from the factory with Marshmallow a factory restore will be a waste of time IMO. What was your last phone? I assume you used it in the same way as your G4 - ran the same apps and similar usage SOT. How was the battery with that phone? Was the phone new or used. If used the battery might be bad. It's not difficult to kill a lithium battery...

Yeah I spoke too soon. 19 hours after the last charge it's down to 75% remaining so that was a one time thing apparently. I wish I could figure out what made the last charge last so long.

I upgated to MM back in Feb (T-mo). At first, the battery was amazing but now it is getting worse and worse. Even with light use I get maybe 8 hours out of a charge and when I go to bed it is at 100% and by morning it is regularly at 50% or less...and that is after only 6 hours of doing nothing.

I have HARD FACTORY reset it about 3 times and after that it runs like a champ...then a week later it goes back to being a battery pig.

I have also notice lately (last 2 weeks) that it is lagging BIG BIG time. I pick a folder and it takes 1 to 2 seconds to open. Then sometimes when the phone rotates screen it gets stuck (most of the time it is while I am jogging and it is annoying).

I hope they fix these bugs soon..if not, when the Note 6 comes out, I will jump ship BACK to Samsung.

Wish it was easier to root the G4 with MM.

See my post #35 in this thread. I was able to go from 62% overnight to 96%. More importantly SOT is now acceptable during the day.
