G4 Supershieldz tempered glass screen protector

How well would a tempered glass screen protector work on a slightly curved screen? Would it be able to adhere to the screen properly?

In guessing it'll work just fine 😊

I have them amFilm version of this which I will try with my G4 as soon as it arrives from ATT. I will report/post on how it fits. I have Tech Armor glass on my G3 and would have preferred that, but they don't have one yet for the G4.

Slight bubbling on the 4 corners of my defective version. I'm assuming the replacement won't have that issue but I'm sticking with my original til it breaks, cracks or chips.

I've never used a screen protector....but I've always had a slight cover. Since I'm going with leather,I won't have a case apparently and must consider this...

In my experience, totally worth the $10 that most cost

It wasn't a cost thing,it was that I could tell there was a screen protector and that bugged me

Yeah to be honest I've always enjoyed my plastic screen protectors. Easily wipes off fingerprints/oils, a few drops of liquid, anything. No crappy rainbow effect since I get quality ones. But I also use a slim Seidio Active case for every single phone I've ever had. Always. Since I'm getting the leather G4, though, I guess for the first time I'm in a weird position. No case will freak me out...but I gotta enjoy that leather, baby! Perhaps I'll be trying a "stronger"/"better" screen protector this time, like these glass ones.

I'm in the same boat; but I once shattered my Note 2 screen with a two foot drop on to cement, where it hit the very corner of the phone... I wish that a quality glass screen protector would do the job, but I still get the feeling that a corner drop would destroy the screen.

I'm going to use a case and a screen protector (to guard against "full frontal nudity" drops), and forgo the leather as I'd just be tempted to not use the case if I knew there was that lovely leather underneath.

Yikes...I haven't had something like that happen before...and I would prefer to keep it that way.
I might get a plastic backing eventually with a seidio case and only put the leather one on when I want to show it off or feel better about myself. ;-P

Miracles happen! I installed the Supershieldz this morning. Here are some details. Maybe it will help someone else?

-I used the hinge method with the scotch magic tape on the side opposite the side tab.
-Due to my clumsiness the tape on one side fell off while putting it on - so had to wing it with one side as anchor.
-After installation, indoors, it looked awesome! With dark background. I went to settings - white background (this is a must) and saw a piece of dust. Removed and reinstalled. We both looked at it - perfect!
-I went outside (overcast day) and at the top right - the area not used for anything - there was a piece of lint not trivial in size. Also, the protector wasn't centered. Never underestimate the illumination properties of the sun!
-Got into work. That lint in the upper right was bugging me. I only have the one protector - should I take the risk? Of course I did. I ended up removing entirely. New dust particles and air-born objects got under protector. But I got the thing in the upper right off. Back to the magic tape (better to use supplied stickers, but tape was ok) and got the new stuff off. I also introduced a fingerprint - must have touched the protector (no latex gloves).
-The end result - surprisingly it is excellent! No bubbles in the top corners or anywhere. No lint under the protector, and the fingerprint went away. And I double checked in the sunlight.

I get why these glass protectors are so amazing. As good as going without + added drop protection (they say...). So just a little planning and do it!

I hope that scotch tape is the frosted one and not the clear one. The frosted is the best since it doesn't adhere as hard as the clear tape. Much easier to do the job with the frosted scotch tape!

I have gone as far as taking one off due to lint, spraying the back with Windex and then rinsing under water. I apply then squeegee the excess water left from the rinse. I've done this multiple times with various protectors and had fantastic results. The only one that did not work out well was the Nillkin brand.

Yes Scotch Magic tape is the frosted kind. It's opaque then clear when used on a surface - hence "magic."
Not sure what they call outside of N America. I just didn't want to suggest that over the stickers that come with the protector. But in a pinch it was fine.

Wow good to know - but I'll only take off the glass protector if it cracks or becomes unusable.

Glass is supposed to break instead of the phones screen, not sure about my supershieldz yet but this was the case for my Fosmon and Techarmor

Just bought my Supershieldz yesterday, hoping to pick up my phone from Best Buy before the screen protector gets here!
