So based on what has been announced about the G6, would you get it or stick with the V20? I have a G5, but thought about getting the G6, but I hear the V20 is an awesome phone. Thoughts?

I have the V20 and it's a great phone. If the price is right on the G6 and the main camera is better in full auto then I'll likely make the switch. An improved wide angle camera is already a plus for the G6.

It seems like it may be a tough choice. How important is a removable battery? How important is H20 resistance? Is the G6's camera notably better on auto? How's the G6's audio?

V20... I'd also be using it with a thin TPU case and a Qi charging receiver too though.

I'm a longtime iPhone user and I already have an HTC 10 with amazing audio, so I won't be missing something I've never had, like the removable battery, or the high quality DAC, which I have and find I use only a couple times a week when I have quiet time to really appreciate excellent sound. A lot of the time when I'm listening to my music I'm also working at something else and don't notice the sound quality too much.

I also have an S7 Edge and had a Note 7. So I'm kind of burned out on edges and even AMOLED is not exciting me all that much.

So I'm pretty primed for the G6 and what it does offer and supposedly can do well. It's hard for me to recall off the top of my head all the crazy cool things You Tubers have demo'd for this phone and in particular the elongated display. But I want them.

I suppose if I already had a V20 I'd stick to it. Even now the low prices on V20's make me look and think a little bit. But I do want the ip68 waterproofing, too. I spend a lot of time at the beach and around a pool. In the winter I'm out sledding with the kids and snapping pics. I kind of know where I am headed on a choice like this.

If I lived in Korea I would get the G6 64 GB model with the nice DAK. Living in the USA I and for my needs I see nothing interesting at all in the G6. I do still like the V20, if I see a better deal on Verizon soon I might give it a try. Otherwise I will wait until the Fall and see what the Note 8 and V30 have to offer.

V20:
Quad DAC
IR Blaster
Removable Battery
Better mic for recording

G6:
Water-resistance, nice all glass design
Higher screen-to-body ratio (almost no bezels)
13 MP Wide Angle Camera (vs 8MP from V20)

At this point, pick your features. To me, it really comes down to removable battery VS water-resistance. I'd pick removable battery.

V20 is one of the best LG devices I've had. I've had zero performance issues with it and the cameras are great once you get used to them. Having said all that, I'll most likely get the G6 when it is released. I got the V20 for 2 reasons. I wanted the larger screen, and I really like LG. But, it's a bit larger than I'd like for a phone so the same display size in a smaller form factor is appealing to me.

Going to wait and see what the next V-series phone offers. If LG drops removable battery, I'll probably shop around for a V20 at a good price.

I am in the same position, the removable battery is a must, so the G6 will NEVER be considered. V20 or V30 if it has a removable battery.

I'm worried about you....if you jump from the V20 you are bound to buy one in each color.

The DAC is great on the V20. There are no directional microphones in the G6, and I'm assuming no high quality voice recorder. I'd much rather have a removable battery than a water resistant phone... I can just grab a waterproof case.. If the auto is THAT much better, that's cool. Still hoping for an LG update on the V20. haha

The G6 definitely has me interested .. Looks like a nice phone.

I was going to get the G6 myself. Looks like a great device for sure. But after thinking it over I bought another V20. I like the removable battery and the largest overall size. I don't need waterproofing myself. So for my with the features I need and prefer I got another V20.

If you have a V20, i would say keep it :) The G6 is definitely a little better with regards to performance but i don't think its worth a $600 upgrade. The screen size and resolution is the same. The battery is a little bigger but you not going to get 2 hours SOT extra from it. :)

If you have a LG G5 hmm, i might be open to considering the G6 as an upgrade simply because the G5 wasn't the best and the whole modular thing was a flop. Even though i really wanted it to work :(

I didn't intend to discredit the G6 at all. After viewing some reviews, it looks like it will be a really solid device. I think it would be a good upgrade for someone replacing a G4/G5, M9, or S6 type phone.
