Galaxy buds + not enough bass

For anyone who has the Buds+ do you think they're a good set?

I have Echo Buds from Amazon. Honestly, they're pretty decent. They don't blow me away or anything. Since I will be getting the $200 credit, I was considering getting a pair.

Sent mine back due to lack of base and the tinny sound they outputted. I played with all the settings, used the largest cups (and yes, I know how to wear ear pieces, used ear pieces for years when working, and now retired, I used a set of wired earbuds from a collar (LG HBS 780)that is bluetooth enabled from the phone.

They did appear to be very well made and for some, the sound might be acceptable. I am in my 70s, fired weapons all my life, and even though I don't need a hearing aid, I bet my hearing is not anyway as good as most people on this forum. So with Samsung's great return policy, it is always worth a try.

Settings>Sounds and Vibrations>Sound Quality and Effects.

Thanks guys, I had that on auto but had it on Rock already, changed it to music to see if it makes any difference.
I actually had seen the Dolby Atmos before but I was looking under Galaxy Buds+ in wearables

There's different versions of the WF-1000X, if not the brand new ones, stay away they're crap too. One side would always cut out, the battery life was short, and sound quality sucked. I haven't tried the newest ones but what can you expect from electronics so tiny trying to reproduce hi fidelity audio over a compressed signal that makes it sound like a 128kbps mp3 before it even gets to the buds? Really the only solution I've experienced so far is the LDAC codec. If they're not using LDAC then the signal is getting bastardized before the drivers in the buds/headphones has a chance to reproduce the sound.

The only acceptable sound I've heard over bluetooth is the Sony WH-1000XM3 using the LDAC codec. I even like them better than my wired Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros running on a dedicated DAC and one of the most well regarded headphone AMPs, the JDS Atom. If you're about sound quality, I would stay away from all wireless buds at this point and wait a few generations for better codecs and tech - it's really just not there yet.

I agree that wired are better.. For wired I use my Dragonfly Cobalt with the SE846. Music heaven.

On the note of the WH non-issue for me. They are portable and sound better than the airpod pro for travel.

I must have some special snowflake ears because these for perfect and sound great and I've had way more expensive that don't sound any better. I don't have time for wired buds anymore, these are perfect for work.

I too find these to be adequate for my everyday use. Being free is an added bonus. I haven't ordered my +s yet, but I've had 2 pairs of the originals. The reviews I've read/watched say for the money they're a great set of buds. If battery life is important I don't think there's a set out there in any price range that can beat them. Obviously Samsung didn't focus a lot of time on music quality and for the price point there's only so much they could do. I personally would spend $150 on these if they're a step up from the originals and with almost double the battery life I'd say they are. Considering there isn't much else to buy with the credit it's a no brainier.

What I don't understand is how so many people can complain so much about something that was FREE. I can understand all the complaints about the phone, because it cost upwards of $1600.

I hated the WF-1000X because of the fit and the weight. They are 8.5g. The Buds are 5.6 grams.
I didn't like the fit because much of that weight is dangling outside your ear, so you feel them much more than buds that stay cradled inside your ear. The Sonys would also want to fall out with any type of moisture on the ear tips, which is hard to avoid in humid/hot weather.

I swapped them for Buds and much happier because I can barely tell I am wearing them. At home, I use the WH-1000XM3 and love those cans.

My Buds+ are on offerup brand new in the box. I already got the regular Buds last year for free and they are still fine for the gym. Hoping to recoup about $100 or so on these to apply to the price of the phone.

I'll take a lack of bass with 11 hours of battery life, comfortable fit, good call quality and FREE.

I use the Jabra Elite 75t and they're perfect for my needs. Great fit and sound.

I'm looking at those. A buddy of mine that uses all Apple stuff uses those instead of his AirPods Pro everywhere but the gym. That's high praise coming from this guy. LOL

In ear monitors are extremely dependent an getting a good ear canal seal. Without that you will completely lose the bass response. If you're not familiar with using buds I suggest you Google how to fit them to your ears and find a YouTube demo or illustrated instructions.

Most buds, including these, come with multiple sizes for you to find the ones that best for your ears.
This is an extremely condescending comment. Most of us on here know how to use a smartphone, we certainly know how to use earbuds and the concept behind them.

All that being said. I will seco d the OP findings that these absolutely lack the bass even woth bass boost setting through wearables app.

There was nothing whatsoever condescending about my post. There is no way to know an individual's level of experience so I tried to encompass all levels of experience.

If you've been around these forums for awhile you know that people who post in here range from the expert to the complete neophyte.

One thing everyone should do, seriously everyone is download the samsung "good lock" app from the galaxy store. It adds so much to this phone including WAY better volume control (IMO) and an equalizer. I also cant live without the card stack in the app switch screen.

It saved my sanity on the note 8 as well by moving the clock back to the right side of the task bar. Give it a shot.

Anyone know why Spotify auto opens and plays whenever I connect my buds to bluetooth?

I know the Buds+ has Spotify integration built in to the app. Maybe try disabling Spotify from the Wearable app to see if it still happens.

HELP! My new S20+ and these new buds I am not digging at all! It is way to much treble no matter what settings I use, does anyone have any suggestions for me?

With in ear headphones, a tight seal to your ear is required to achieve good bass. For some people's ear canal design, it's a struggle to get the tips to seal well. If inner ear hair is prevalent, trim it for a better seal.

Did you make sure Dolby Atmos was enabled. I found mine was not by default. Turned it on while using the Buds+ and made a night and day difference.

I just tried, and while the sound was definitely more punchy, the bass levels didn't seem to increase. That said, they're still better than the Boltune's I got for the Mrs, which sound like a tin can when it comes to bass.

I never even liked the first set of galaxy bugs that I got last year with my s10+. they sound like a tin can. So I just use an old pair of iPhone headphones and they work just fine for me.

I hear ya. I'm happy with my buds. I switch between the buds and my B&O's
