On 4.0.4?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Android Central Forums
If you have root on your 4.0.4 ROM then just download superuser from the market. If you don't, then flash this in CWR: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47300967/su404.zip
ONLY FOR STOCK 4.0.4
Help! I am new to this whole experience: Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I have unlocked the Bootloader, flashed the CWMR 5.5.0.4 beta 6 recovery. I cannot get the su.zip or any zip file to show up. I adb push them to the phone, it seems successful, then I go to the recovery "install zip from sdcard" and it says "no files found" . Yikes. Now my phone is useless.
I would appreciate anyones help. BTW I am using a mac.
Thanks,

I was rooted on my Verizon GNex under 4.0.2. Got the OTA update to 4.0.4, but apparently have lost root (naturally).
When I go into FastBoot mode, it displays "LOCK STATE ? UNLOCKED," but won't read the phone when I connect via USB to my Mac. I have downloaded the latest su.zip, but I can't reboot into recovery (nor can I do anything else a truly rooted phone can do).
Tried to rename/delete the "recovery-from-boot.p" file using Root Explorer, but it keeps telling me the file is untouchable because it's a system file.
Have run out of ideas; anyone have any other suggestions? (Obviously, it's past time for me to put a custom 4.0.4 ROM on the phone, but I need to root, first.)
Thanks in advance!
./fastboot boot recovery whatevertheclockworkfileiscalled.zip
are you at all familiar with fastboot?
i would have you download the 404 su .zip straight from your phone (so it will be in your sd/downloads folder).
then download the latest version of clockwork mod and place it in the same folder as fastboot on your computer.
then you can put usb debugging mode on the phone while connected by usb to cpu, open up terminal or command prompt (depending if you use mac or pc), and "cd" to the folder that contains fastboot.exe (as well as the zipped up copy of cwm you will download), then you can enter this command:
then you should have cwm temp booting on your device - navigate to install zip from sd card, go to downloads, and flash the latest su.Code:./fastboot boot recovery whatevertheclockworkfileiscalled.zip
after that reboot, flash cwm permanently whichever way you prefer (rom manager, fastboot) and you'll be good to go.
any questions feel free to ask here

Doh . . . I meant, I was unlocked under 4.0.2, not rooted. So yes, familiar with FastBoot. (And no, I can't reboot into recovery from FastBoot?I see the "LOCK STATE?UNLOCKED" notice, but it pretty much acts as though it's locked.)
I'll try your suggestions?thanks a ton!![]()
Word I meant boot loader mode on phone and fast boot via CPU using commands.
Let me know if that works out or if you need clarifications.
