GALAXY NEXUS: Ecco i benchmark
Is anyone else afraid that this phone is going to be too big? Might as well put an iPad in my pocket. I'd think 4.3 or 4.5" would have been plenty. I was hoping the screen would have been more edge to edge to make the case size smaller. 13.6cm long is huge!
I've been wavering and back and forth between the Nexus and the Vigor/Rezound. Was heavily leaning toward the Nexus for the last few days because of ICS and native use of dual core. On the other hand, the Vigor/Rezound should have an ICS dev rom before long.
Then we have the fact that most devs seem to me moving to the Nexus also and that throws me back into the Nexus camp. But those specs listed above on those benchmarks, if true, are just massively underwhelming!
Guess I'll be still thinking about this, and probably going back and forth right up to the last minute.

Ignore those Galaxy Nexus benchmarks, they were from a gimped firmware.
It isn't much bigger than the Charge is... The only difference is the height. Width is the same, according to those specs (136x68)
If I'm following that site's logic, the "benchmark" compares the GN's 3D performance (via Open GL) to that of other phones (one is the SGS2):cheap phones sold at high price.

really cheap hardware compared to other phones.

Are you an angry Bionic owner or something? Or just a random troll?

Ok dude. I'm usually a pretty lighthearted fellow. If you read my posts here I typically make jokes and try to help out new folks when I can. I've tried to ignore your negativity for long enough, however.
You need to find somewhere else to spend your time instead of ruining every other poster's enjoyment of this forum with your incessant negativity. Go have fun over at Phandroid and don't look back.
According to the GLBenchmark site, the v2.1 benchmark results are apples-to-apples:I suppose that I don't understand the value of benchmarking performance when the phones aren't apple-to-apple (no pun intended) comparisons...
GLBenchmark 2.1, updated to measure the latest performance improvements in OpenGL ES 2.0
GLBenchmark 2.1 is an upgrade to our popular GLBenchmark 2.0.x series OpenGL ES 2.0 benchmarks. Using the same content it provides more scalable test environment, compatible with the widest range of performance profiles.
Major new features
Off-screen measurements: all high-level scenes are also rendered off-screen, with the same 1280x720 pixel resolution on all devices. This method provides apples-to-apples performance comparison for the embedded GPUs.
Warm-up style throughput tests: fill-rate and triangle tests are run in loops of continuously increased complexities to reach the performance limits of all platforms.
High quality rendering: all tests with "High" quality settings require multi-sample anti-aliasing and at least 24 bits ofcolor- and Z-buffer depths.

Ignore me if you are not happy that I'm saying truth about your new toy
It's incredible how adults behave when you talk bad about their new toy
I'm not saying that this phone is a bad phone, I don't know it but from the data we have it is surely a cheap phone with cheap hardware.
I have no problem with people discussing the shortcomings of this device. It's not the be all and end all of mobile technology.
The problem is that you are not offering any constructive information. You're just posting the same "ZOMG CH3AP HARDWAREZ" bullcrap over and over again. It's grown tiresome.
it uses the same GPU used in Nexus S
GLBenchmark - Phone details comparsion
amazing how 3D is slower due to the bigger display resolution.
Surely the UI will be faster due to software optimizations but 3D graphics and games will be slower than Nexus S.
This is a fact, not an opinion since they have the same GPU on different resolution, I'm saying facts, if this is trolling I don't have clear what "trolling" means![]()
as far as I know I'm posting benchmarks
benchmarks = facts
