Galaxy Nexus Tips And Tricks

You can adjust animation speeds in Settings->Developer Options->Window Animation Scale and Transition Animation Scale. Smaller scales are faster.

Just curious how you do this, ya know for my friend who doesnt know how. ;)

Long press on an app and drag it on top of another app you wish to make a folder with :)

As stated above, you long-press to select an item, then hover it over top of another item you want to combine into a folder. Once you see what I call the folder "black hole" open, drop the icon. To name the folder that has be created, click on your new folder, then click at the bottom (should default to Unnamed Folder).

Thank you guys for all the kind words. Here are some of the answers to your questions

Im not really sure what case it is. I got it from the Verizon store ( No Branding on the box other then verizon). I looked online at Verizonwireless.com and cant find it. This is the closest thing I could find

The Clock is Via Beautiful Widgets.

Thanks again guys. I hope to make a few more videos this week. Keep the tips coming !

This is the case that Verizon sells for almost all smart-phones, I love these cases! Any chance you can take some pics?

I remember seeing that Easter egg a while back, and I was amused that they kept it in, as I tried it on my phone yesterday. Did they change it with the latest update, though? In the video posted in this topic, the animation seems to continue playing until you touch the screen, but when I did it, the animation only played for a few seconds, then automatically stopped (and gave me a little message on the bottom that just said "Android 4.0" or something like that).

About the folders: when you create a fodler by dropping one icon on top of another, then click on the clreated fodler to expend its content - then long press on "Unnamed Fodler" title that is right below and you can create a title that will be displayed on the homescreen underneath the folder

Does having GPS idle really take up battery usage? Same goes with NFC? I guess it wouldn't hurt but I'm just curious.

No for GPS. This has been covered in the forums and on the podcast. Not sure about NFC. Not sure about Wifi either. NFC and Wifi may use battery if they are constantly looking for something to connect to. The GPS radio just patiently sits there waiting to be invoked.

question about receiving texts?every time I receive a text the volume indicator for incoming calls pops up, is there a way to make that stop. Using stock texting.

Thanks in advance

Here are some images of the case that you guys asked for.

I got that case today as well, love it! Had the same case for my Incredible and Thunderbolt, best case IMO.

Two questions if anyone knows. How do you enter private browsing (They said they was a feature in ICS) and how of you get contacts' photos to appear in the notification area next to their text/email.

Thanks guys!

As for contact pics, they show up fine in my emails and Google voice texts. I have not received or sent texts via any other method. These were default settings...
