Galaxy Note 10.1 2014: WIFI issues

I also have Samsung galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition and it has stopped scanning my wifi , however all other devices - my laptops , samsung phones S3 and grand are connected to wifi as usual .

Anyone knows what could be the problem ?

The obvious thing to check is that you don't have WiFi turned off or airplane mode turned on.

I fixed the problem!! You need to change the encryption standard of your wlan-password from TKIP-AES to TKIP right then it works fine.
You can do this in your router's settings.

Somehow kitkat4.4.2 cant seem to handle AES+TKIP

Umm.... MIght be conflict on "security" parameters....

AES...

TKIP..

Preliminary look at my access point, it will allow one or the other but not both (Amped Wireless AP) .. Guess it needs further investigation... Maybe this Is why its never been issue for me as it is defaulted to AES...

I have had my tablet a galaxy 10.1 for a year and a half now and it recently tells me that the Network Disabled. Poor Connection. WHILE I am sitting right in front of the damned router. AND my laptop is on the wifi at the same time and has no issues. It sometimes connects but that is when I have just turned on the laptop also. Otherwise it will not connect. I also have gone in and done all that you have done and it still is whacked. I am just perplexed and frustrated. I hope you find out what is going on and if I do I will also respond back.

At one time I disabled the ANT app and started to have a lot of problems with Wi-fi connections. Once I enabled it and updated the ANT app the problem was gone and have no problems connecting to wi-fi at home, at the office or connecting through foxfi on my phone. I suggest to check ANT app.

Hi Dale,

Thanks for the tips, this helped me find out the random dropping of the wifi signal on my note 10.1 is due to an authentication error occurring. Will look into that, but the tester app also tells me that other channels have much better reception. But for the life of me I can't find out how to change channels. You recommended changing the channels, could you tell me how? Many thanks!

Hmmm ... Good question, I will have to research it... One would think you could just "select" it from chart, but not so... Also under help you would think select "available channels" you could turn off poor ones, but no joy here also....

I had the same problems With missing WiFi. Tried everything without success. Then I called MPX.no, the Norwegian Internet store where I bought my Galaxy Note. They told me to return the device to their service partner, mcare. No postage required. I sent the device, and got it back after three days. The problem had been "defekt hk", which translates as defective main card. They changed it and tested the device. Everything now works perfectly. Luckily the Note 10.1 was under warranty.

I also experienced this problem. I logged in to my router using a computer by entering its ip address in a browser then managed the router. It is broadcasting in b g n.
I set in to broadcast in b and g only then saved settings. The router restarts and my tab 2 connected to my wifi.

Confusing problem, perhaps obvious answer to the most knowledgeable.
My Samsung Note 10.1 works fine, connecting quickly and easily in one location.
Recognizing the wifi router.
In another location, it says it is connected, but will not permit access to internet.

I have reset. still "connected" but no internet access. No air plane mode, no bluetooth mode.
Is the other wifi router losing its connectivity,
eventho the table says it is connected.

Some WIFI sites block certain accesses (at the router) and will not let you go to internet, but yes you can still have valid "connection".... Many WIFI "Hot Spots" will do this especially in shopping mall stores and sensitive business locations... So you connection may be valid, but the place you are connected to maybe restricting your access...
