Galaxy Note 10.1: Battery life way short of the suggested 9 hours

I noticed that with the update to KitKat Google+ was suddenly killing my battery life. Disabled syncing for it and there was a noticeable improvement.

My usage begs to differ....

You insist on keeping the screen blindingly bright. What part of the higher the brightness the more battery power it takes do you not understand? You may also have a battery hogging app or lots of unnecessary things running 24/7 (GPS, Bluetooth, etc.) Who knows. I think you're just an Apple fan boy having buyers remorse and needing a place to take it out on, to be honest. Since you seem to hate your Note, sell it and go by an iPad.

What don't you get? My old iPad, note 3, and note 10.1 2014 edition I had the brightness brightness around the same and my results are around 5-6 hours of screen time with my Note 3, 3-4 hours with my Note 10.1 2014 edition, and when I had my iPad air it was around 11 hours all had location/gps, and wifi on (don't use blue tooth much)

Apple fanboy? Lol very much opposite of it nor am I am a Android fanboy either.... I like ios but I love Android with customization (using the Google now launcher on my note 3 which is amazing :D) battery life needs to be better optimized with tablets which lies in the problem

Actually battery life is one negative I have with this device. I wish they would go with a heavier duty battery. I am not going to turn the screen down to where I can barely see it, I have turned it down to 75% for a compromise, but I will not go lower. Also will not deactivate all the options that I actually bought this device for. Mine will run for about 3.5 hours with heavy use, I have started trying to plug in at every opportunity during the day in order to try and keep the charge up. As I said before it needs a heavier duty battery, it would be worth the additional weight.

You realize no one is complaining about the battery life but you?

No one? Look above this post... Anyways there was a few others in here I believe who have complained about battery life.

My note 3 I use in the same conditions and it easily can last me 16+ hours and 5+ hours of screen time till it hits 30%

I have the ipad mini with retina, the S3 phone and, of course, my Note, 2014 edition. Of all of them, the Note has the best battery life. I usually recharge every 3-4 days and I use it for around 4 hours a day. Couldn't be h pier.

Agreed!

Who said the iPad is "better"? The only thing it is better at is battery life.....

I've used all the iPads and iPhone except the 5s that's ever been out. Idevices stinks when it comes to battery. Since having the Note 3 and this tablet, battery life has been amazing. That's why I love Samsung stuff. Just my opinion though.

I've been using Android devices since my Samsumg Galaxy s2 skyrocket and while that plus the s3,s4 battery was adequate and I found the nexus 5 wanting ios devices I had lasted me a whole day and then some (iPhone 3gs and iPhone 4). The only phone where I literally don't have to worry about battery is my note 3.

As I have said my old iPad air got around 11 hours of usage compared to my note 10.1 2014 edition. I recently got it replaced since it had the light bleeding issue and speaker decided to quit on me and updated it to kitkat right out of box and hopefully battery life will be a bit better

Hi, I had a screen issue with my tablet and the Geeks repaired it. Now that I have it back my battery life declines so fast. I used to watch NetFlix on it for hours and not run out of battery till the end of the day. Now I just opened it for the first time for today and it was at 98% (It charged all night) and after logging into the wifi and checking emails it's at 91%. and that was within 15 minutes. Help?
