Galaxy Note 2 - Screen Mirroring disconnecting after update to 4.3

I have an S4 4.3 trying to mirror to Screenbeam Pro. The app listed above is not available for the S4. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

samsung note 2, upgraded to android 4.3 then factory reset and installed the patch. still cant scan my sony tv from mirror disolaying. but PPTV keeps working for screen sharing on before and after android os upgrade. strange!!

First off, download the Smart Tutor app. This allows Samsung Support to tap into your phone while you're on the line with them. Call Samsung Support to see what they can do for you and tell them you have Smart Tutor on your phone.

What finally got my Screen Mirroring to work is to have my "software reflashed" at Best Buy per Samsung Support suggestion. Reflash is free.

This patch that EISLUK is referencing is the ScreenMirroring Patch on the Google Play Store and didn't work for me with the Galaxy Note 2.

I can connect the Galaxy Note 2 to the AllShare Cast Dongle with the Screen Mirror original app (on Android 4.3), but disconnects after 5-8 seconds and says that Screen Mirroring is turned off.

When I install the patch, I can no longer connect to the AllShare Cast Dongle at all. Thanks Samsung!

Hi all... dont despair, I am waiting for samsung to call back as nothing they suggested worked. I have had my note 2 since andrid 4.1...the dongle worked fine. Then 4.2 or 4.3 (i cant remember & it crashed again. This was soved by the "screen mirror patch" available from google play. Since 4.4 KitKat, it has failed again & I tried uninstalling installing & all sorts of other combinations. This is what worked for me...ITS SO EASY!!.
Go to setting>Application manager>ScreenMirroring> then click on "unistall updates" Thats it. Good Luck. Wish I could have those 8 hours back!!

I too was facing the same issue of not able to connect from my note 2 to my sony bravia tv (without all share cast dongle), but found a way to bypass the issue and its working fine again:

Initiate the videos application on your phone and play any video
Choose to mirror it from the top left corner icon.
Select your sony tv (there can be 2 options - one is to stream to your tv and another for screen mirroring)
Choose the screen mirroring icon shown in the available list of devices to connect
Now your video should be playing fine on TV(this aint any magic, still thot not to miss steps)
Lock your phone by pressing the power button.
Get back to your phone's home screen by pressing the home screen button.

Now you should be able to see your phone's desktop mirrored on tv (like it used to be before your OS update)

This is working like charm for me..Note sure if it works for all

NB: Only other change I did was to enable developer mode on my phone - google and figure out how to do it if you are not sure.

Hope this helps!

I tried all that is mentioned in this thread and nothing works between my Note 2 (T Mobile S/W ver 4.3, Unrooted) and my Samsung KDL600B.

The very first time I had tried screen mirroring, it had worked like a charm, but then the next day it stopped working, and now I dont know if the problem is Note 2 or the Samsung TV.

Resetting option: Did the reset twice on my note2, once using backup and once as a fresh reset - both times it didnt work :(
Patch option: D/L ed the patch and applied it, still didnt work - now everytime i restart the phone, it says patch needed under patch but doesnt work after patching.
Mirroring from Video Screen: Even tried the option in the post directly above mine - that too didn't work (even with the developer mode enabled). Its a PITA - The note says its connected but the TV doesnt show mirroring, and then within a minute or so, the phone says "screen mirroring is now disconnected"

Fortunately I have a Chromecast, and with their latest update, the screen mirroring through chromecast seems to work, so thats a small saving grace.

Will stay tuned it to see if someone can resolve this issue......

It seems to me a strategy by Google to sell their Chromecast devices. I have two samsung devices Note 2 and Note 10.1 and a Samsung smart TV. Screen mirroring on both was working flawlessly before kitkat upgrade. However, screen mirroring has stopped working after kitkat update. I have also tried everything mentioned in this thread and still not working. Now I am disappointed about screen mirroring and convinced to purchase a Chromecast. Therefore, it is proved that an OS update by Google can sell its Chromecast :-$
