Galaxy Note 3 - Case & Covers Thread

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

BTW, here's how I've modified my UAG case with additional attachments:

EDIT: I got a PM asking about the attachments--whether they can be taken off easily. This was my reply:

"The attachments all use 3M tape, which is very easy to put on and take off, leaves no residue, but is also extremely secure at the same time. They all come with 3M tape adhesives, but you can also buy an extra roll to keep at home for various uses."

If you want to find out about the extra attachments, how to use them, where to get them, you can read the article I wrote about them here:

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Love this thread. I got my Note 3 about 3 months ago and now have 6 cases. I do switch around alot, went from a few Cruzerlite bugdroid. Now using Spigen neo hybrid case.

Just ordered Trident Cyclops for my Note 3 because needed more protection , after almost dropping my Note 3 on the floor yesterday!

Read reviews about the cyclops. And the iffy screen protector. I will likely remove it before installing the case. I already have a screen protector on my phone and it works great.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Got this last 2 weeks ago. It has survive one drop so far. I dropped from waist height. It landed on the screen and lucky it's still in one piece, no damage.

Amazon.com: Trident Case CY-SAM-GNOTE3-RED Cyclops Series Case for Samsung Gnote3 - Carrying Case - Retail Packaging - Red: Cell Phones & Accessories

I bought mine too from Amazon but got the green one. Should get it in 4-5 days

Just curious did you leave your screen protector on? I've read bad reviews for it. When I get mine I plan to take it off

I tried it and hated it. I took it off. The screen felt cheap and I did not like how it made the screen look like ink fell on it......

One important thing, this case is a PITA to take off. You must use a butter knife or a quarter like I did to get the front panel off.

I also try to stay away from cases that are a PITA to take off. Especially since with every Galaxy I've owned, I always buy an extra battery kit. When my battery dies, I use the spare one, and that means needing to access the battery compartment. Can't imagine having to wrestle with a case everyday. I've noticed that cases that come in two pieces like the slim armor with the rubber casing and a white cover trim that you put over the rubber is exactly this kind of PITA. Tried it today in a store and realized I couldn't live with it. Looks slick though.

Was it easy to take off the screen? Or is there anything special involved? I heard you just pop out the screen because it's held but some sticky material?

Yeah I heard it's a b*tch to remove the case. I guess my days of switching cases back and forth will have to end soon... Lol

Forgot to mention I have the Zagg invisible shield High definition screen protector on my Note 3 and it's great. The lady at Best buy mobile where I got the Note 3 Installed it and she did a great job. No bubbling. I can't even tell it's on, and doesn't affect the quality of the screen at all. it has protected my screen from scratches. Love this screen protector.

Yes screen is very easy to take off. Just make sure you get all the glue off. I was kinda lazy when I did it on my Note and some of the glue stuck to the phone.

Thanks man for the heads up. Can't wait to get the cyclops case early next week. Definitely taking the screen protector off.

How about s pen performance? Does the screen protector affect it?

You mean on my Zagg shield? No effect at all with the S pen. Works great.

However I do have to mention I never used the S pen without the screen protector, so not sure what it is like "naked" I had the Zagg installed at the best buy Mobile store when I got the Note 3. But the S pen works great with it.

The main thing is putting on the screen protector correctly. It came with a cloth and a spray that you spray on before putting screen protector on. I got lucky that the sales lady did a great job and took her time.

Thanks for the feedback. Might consider getting that Zagg then.

You're right about installing being a b**ch. always depends on how skillful the one doing it is. Only tried doing it myself once. Never did again.

I went through this humongous thread and some said the S pen leaves dots or marks on the Zagg shield but I have not experienced this myself. I don't use my S PEN much but when I have I haven't noticed anything like this.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Whohoo! Got confirmation my Trident cyclops case is out for delivery today! Thought it wasn't coming until next Wednesday. That's awesome!

Right now I'm using the Spigen Slim Armour and really like it but not sure how well it'll protect the phone if dropped

I also have the yellow Neo Hybrid, which I think is the best looking case but again won't protect much if dropped

Also got a few Cruzerlite bugdroid slim cases

I'll try to take some pics of the Trident cyclops case and post my initial impressions once I get it.

So just got my Trident cyclops case and loving it

I was afraid it was gonna add alot of weight and heft but it's very light. For how durable it is this is a major plus. I would say it's as light, if not more so, than both my Spigen Slim Armor and Spigen Neo Hybrid cases. Actually I think it may be a tad lighter!

Opening the box was simple, but the instructions are horrible. I'm glad I watched a YouTube video on how to open the case or I'd be lost :)

First thing I did is remove the screen protector. What a joke. It's a flimsy plastic piece of crap. If anyone gets this please just remove it. It was super easy to remove it.

Installation is super easy. Looks great and so far loving it.

Screen has a small lip around it so should protect screen from face down falls. I also have a Zagg invisible shield on

Again this is my favorite case so far. Which is good because I heard it's a b*tch to remove lol!

One thing I noticed is the power and volume buttons on the sides require a bit more force to use. May just be it's new. But not a big deal, and definitely not a deal breaker

The sides are super grippy. Way better than on the Neo hybrid or Slim Armor

Sorry the pic quality Sucks. Used my daughter's iPhone 4S camera! :)

So I have tried to go through all of the pages of this thread.
Lots of great cases!
I currently have the OtterBox Commuter and the Samsung S View, however I am starting to looking for a nice low profile bumper style case? Something that would just pop onto the phone and go around the edges.
Anyone see any of those out there?

I just received a Trident AMS case yesterday. I wanted the ability to clip on the accessory attachments. I love it so far. The screen protector has the rainbow oil slick thing going on between the screen and protector, but I only wiped both with my shirt before assembling.

I also got the windshield mount. I've only mounted it to the kitchen thus far, so I don't know how well it will perform but it looks like it will break easily. I wish it had some metal built into the tabs that connect to the phone.

Look at the Cruzerlite bugdroid case. Or something similar. Super thin and stylish but offers little to no protection if dropped. Only protects from scratches.
