Galaxy Note 3 - Case & Covers Thread

I got my $1 red Spigen Neo Hybrid Case yesterday from Amazon. It's a high quality piece... and fits really well. The only thing is... the phone feels noticeably bigger now. The size of the Note 3 itself felt perfect. Oh well... guess I gotta protect it.

If I find a slimmer case that still provides good protection I'll probably try that out.

I figured out the "problem" with the Spigen Neo Hybrid case. While the Note 3 is a big phone... Samsung tapered the edges down so the phone is thinner near the edge... making it easier to hold. This Spigen case basically squares off the entire phone in addition to adding thickness... so now the device in the case feels a lot chunkier than before.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

I buy a case to protect from nicks and scratches,, normal wear and tear, not drops.. I treat my phones as if they were baby's,, and I don't drop them either. My spiegen came today and I love it. Looks and feels great. The camera lens is lifted a bit so the lens does not touch surface when I put phone down. Now I just have to put my temperd glass screen protector on and this baby is done. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/11/ebaga3u5.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/11/ba6ybeju.jpg

THE BEAST,,NOTE 3. SIZE IS EVERYTHING!!!

Agreed! I have the same case for the same reasons. Love it!

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

I'm anxiously awaiting my slate Spigen Neo Hybrid, it'll replace the Incipio the AT&T store had.

Nexuscillin 7. An iOS cure.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

i looked at that, but that case leaves the top and bottom edge exposed i thought.

The Spigen Ultra Fit looks like utter crap. It doesn't even sit flush from side to side, and the back is already scuffing. Terrible case, do not buy.

I thought the neo hybrid was a slim case. How thick is it, like an otterbox or something? I like the look, but I was concerned it was too thin.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

I'd say it adds 25 percent thickness to the phone. Not a huge deal for me, and in my experience, it is so far a great case. It does have a squared off feel too it, but at the same time I feel like the extra bulk and weight actually make me more mindful of my phone. The only thing I'm not impressed with is the cut out for the spen, with my larger fingers it does make it a little tough to hold.

The Spigen Neo Hybrid case is nowhere near as bulky as an Otterbox case.

I'm just saying that the Neo Hybrid case is really boxy... so it makes the phone feel a lot chunkier. I actually had to adjust how I hold my phone because of the different feel.

It would have been nice if they tapered the edges of the case like Samsung did with the actual phone... it would make it nicer to hold.

Don't know what your looking at. The fit is beautiful and still have no scratches. How do you get scratches? I guess I take good care of me device.

Love my wallet cases...I have a couple of black hybrid cases as well, but my wallet cases are my go-to's. Zenus cases are high quality...

I'm waiting for Seidio to release the Active Case combo to be released. Until then I'm using a case and holster by i-Blason.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

For those that have the spigen neo, how is the grip on the sides when holding the phone? From the pictures it looks smooth, correct?

That coloured band you see is smooth... but I never felt like it was going to slip out of my hand.

I think the phone is so big that it causes you to have a firm grip on it regardless... lol

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Anyone seeing any extended battery cases yet? Bought the Hyperion for the note 3 and loving the two days I get out of it, stock gave me barely one the way I use it. Bought a cheap black spigen tpu fits ok on one side but won't quite pull up over the phone lip on the other side. But it's useable. Have been searching and found nothing.

Is the colored band painted or molded plastic? While I'll hope it's molded plastic (it's finish would be more durable) I don't want to get my hopes up.

The problem for me is that I have oily fingers, I have tried silicone, tpu, and hard shell cases before that were sooth from a variety of manufacturers and they all got a little slippery after a while. I am using the note 2 Cruzerlite a2 case similar to the attached, and the ribbed section feels great for me. I prefer the spigen neo or slim armor style, but they both look smooth on the sides, I am afraid the grip won't be as good as a case with ribbed sides

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

So my Neo - hybrid spigen case came in and I just installed it. I have been using a diztronic TPU case for a few days. Really like it. After installing the neo hybrid, not sure I like it as much as the simple tpu. The s-pen is harder to get to and it doesn't seem as solid. It also doesn't feel as gripy. As others have stated, the neo-hybrid makes the phone feel very box like and not as comfortable to hold. What I do like are the buttons. They feel nice and are easier to use then ones built into the TPU.

Re: Note 3 Case Thread.

Spigen Neo owners,

Is the back a soft rubber, and does it attract finger prints or grime?

Thanks

My Neo Hybrid Metal Slate is slick as a greased cat's ***. It was actually shipped with a warp around the charge port and a blemish where the case is warped. I've emailed them and am awaiting a reply.

Actually picked up an official Samsung Black S-View Case, and will be sticking with that one. Feels SUPER solid/premium, adds very little bulk compared to the Neo Hybrid and the Incipio Wallet Case I've used, and the S-View functionality is nice.
