Hi everyone ... new to the forum but I have been lurking for a few weeks.

Quick question:

I received my new Galaxy Note 3 today and I extremely excited!

However, it came with a preinstalled SIM card in it ... is it ok for me to take out the preinstalled SIM card from the Note 3 and replace it with the SIM card that I had in "old" Galaxy Nexus?

I would like to easily transfer my pics/texts etc from my Nexus to my Note 3.

Thanks for the help!

Back up everything to the cloud from your nexus using both your Google and Samsung accounts. Backup your photos using Dropbox.

Restore them to your note 3 using the same accounts.

Keep the new sim card and transfer your number to it. On O2 in the UK this can happen very quickly.

Yes you can. My Verizon Note 3 came with a new sim, even though i stated i didn't need one. All i did was remove the pre-installed out...swapped it with my old one, and powered on. My phone was automatically activated with my new number and everything. Didn't need to call verizon, or be in the store, or go online.

How did you remove the SIM card? I've heard you need tweezers or something ? Is that right ? Thanks

I removed mine by digging into it with my finger nail but it's not easy

Removed mine by using a pin/needle, and just slide down the the sim from side to side (between the metal, you should see the white of the sim card on either side). Slide down enough to just pull out.

Thanks for the help!

I managed to back up all of my images (to my computer) and contacts (thanks Google) and then restore them to my Note 3.

I found the best way to get the SIM card out was just to use some scotch tape ... just barely stick the tape on the card and it slides right out.

However, I activated my phone with the new SIM card in it ... can I put my old SIM card in now or is it useless now because of the new SIM card? I ask because I still want to get my old text messages off my Nexus ... can Verizon help me with that or are they useless when it comes to transferring text messages from one phone to another?

I used this app to restore my texts:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...om.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore&token=aWQRsM_9

I just hooked up my old Nexus phone to my wifi, installed the above app, backed up the texts/saved them to my Nexus, transferred the file from my Nexus to my computer, installed the app on my Note 3, pulled the file from my computer and dropped the saved file into the above app's folder on my Note 3 ... and restored the texts.

The backup part was quick (about 30,000 messages), but the restore part is taking quite a long time.

I use an elastic - put a bit of pressure on the card with a rubber band between your finger and the card and it slides right out.

Hi, I am a postpaid user of Galaxy Note 3, I observed that my phone cannot save contacts to SIm Card. Did someone also experience the same way? thanks

Would anybody know if I can swapped my old galaxy s3 sim card to a new Note 3 phone? Will the card fit? Thanks.
