Have tried all the various ways to start with suggestions from Internet. Press this and hold that etc. Nothing.

Several months ago I did a complete reset (not sure of lingo) which is a Samsung issue.

Have a newer Samsung grand battery installed.

Original battery was swollen likely due to heat issue.

Would love to get this working again rather than purchase a new phone. Sure won't be a Note due to the crazy prices these day. Will likely be a Google Pixel 5G or 4a5G.

Have a voltmeter. Any way to measure voltage of the battery at the 4 contacts? Am thinking this battery could be toast.

Thanks for any help.

What happens when you plug in a charger?

If polarity isn't marked, just start with a probe at one contact and with the second probe test the remaining contacts one at a time. If you get no indication than move the first probe to the next contact and repeat the process until you get a reading or have tested all the combinations.

Should see what the voltage is also while battery out , see what state it's in .

I wondered about the contacts. They look good and I cleaned them with alcohol + qtip. But you never know. could be something beyond the contacts.

You can probably pick up a used Note 4 or even newer device for next to nothing, hope you had everything backed up if you go that route. You could also try to see if a shop shop can fix a minor issue, but you could still lose your data and repair could cost more than it's worth.

If that were the case , be better off buying something newer as the Note 4 is on very old android system and apps will give comparability issues.

There are 4 little slider switches on the right-side of the sim car. The first slider was bend downward, so I straighten and put in the "up" position.

The 4 sliders are in the "up" position. The single slider that's above the other 4, is in the "up" postiton. Wonder if this is correct?

Anyone know their usage?

Regards, Paul.

I agree, but some like to hold on to their devices. There are lot of inexpensive options out there even in the new market.

Any of you using a Note? Have done lots of confusing reading. This one explodes. Replacement not much better, etc. What do you recommend? Can't go for a new 20. I'm in Canada so can do about 1k$ Can.
