I have had the phone for a month and have not been able to get message notification sound to work. I thought it was something I was doing wrong, but today my daughter and her techie husband tried to no avail. I love everything else about this phone bit can't live with no message sound - anyone else found this anomaly or know how to remedy please? Before I send it back to Amazon

Is this with the stock Messaging app? I assume you've already gone to the Settings>Sound & Notification menu and selected a default system notification tone--does that tone work for other app notifications?

Open the Messaging app, tap Menu>Settings, and look for the app's own notification settings. Are those set correctly? Try experimenting with different notification tones within the Messaging app's settings. None of them work?

Tones work fine but not when a message is delivered - everything is set fine grrr
