galaxy note 5 stuck on bootloop, tried opening boot mode, but now stuck on installing system update

title basically says it all. my phone froze last night, so i initially tried to force restart the phone, but it got stuck in boot loop for the whole night. i tried opening the phone through boot mode, and it shows the droid with the blue bg with "installing system update..." and it has been for nearly an hour now. i'm sure this isn't supposed to happen, or at least, it isn't supposed to last this long. is there any other option in which i can get my phone to open?

i have tried using reiboot, but my laptop won't detect my phone, as the phone is closed.

Can you get into download mode ?
Volume down/power button same time before it comes on
