Galaxy Note 8 media volume extremely low despite system settings showing max volume.

Since the most recent system upgrade, my media volume is so low that I can barely hear it. I cannot turn it up with either the volume buttons on the side of the phone or the media volume control in system settings (which show it is already at max volume.) Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, have you been abke to fix it and how so?
