Galaxy Note Pro 12.2: Screen Mirroring not working "hardware conflict"

I was able to finally get this to work. Note Pro 12.2 and Samsung Curved 55" 4k tv. The trick was to use the top screen mirroring icon from the pull down menu. I could not get this to work going through the setting menu as it would time out too fast. When I used the top pull down it seems to last a take little longer to connect. I think someone should review the time-out settings as it seems to be an issue.

Im not sure what the other issues are but I removed my bluetooth headphones from the Note Pro.

Hope that helps.

I have a new samsung galaxy tab pro with android 4.4.2. I am trying to mirror it with my samsung tv. Allshare on the tv did not pick up the laptop so i bought a microsoft wireless display adaptor. When set to screenshare the tv displays the tablet info and the tablet shows the adaptor but then i get a message on the tablet to say that sharing cant be completed because of a hardware error. Has anyone else had this and can advise what i need to do? Many thanks.

I am having the same problem. I have a Samsung tv that work just fine with my galaxy sII for streamING movies. My tab show pictures but will not stream movies like my phone.

Alright, here is the Fix for this. Please spread the word if this works for you. Because it worked for me. I didn't discover this solution so I can't take credit for this. Here it goes:
1. On your Note Pro find All Share Cast from Samsung and UnInstall all the updates. Then click Force Close, all of this should be done in Application Manager.
2. Restart your Note Pro (Very Important)
3. Using two fingers pull down the main screen from top down to unveil the controls menu. Touch Screen Sharing while the Miracast or other screen sharing service (Wifi Direct etc) is activated on Your TV.
4. Let it auto find it and auto connect..........Viola!

Stock SM-P900 worked great with no problems at all using the Samsung Allshare Cast dongle until a firmware update pushed through a few months ago (November 2014 or so). Since then it has worked intermittently between "hardware issue" failure messages, and within the last couple of weeks stopped working entirely giving "Unable to start Screen Mirroring because of a hardware issue" every time. Tried the AllShare Cast uninstall, etc., approach with no luck as well as the other suggestions above for unrooted devices. Hoping for a solution since it was a great feature while it lasted! (My GT-I9195 Galaxy S4 Mini continues to work great with the dongle but it's the SM-P900's screen I want to display on the tv.)

I have to reboot my 12.2 note pro to get that All Share Cast hub to work. See step #2 in post #24. Once working it is very good.

After the os update in November I was able to get screen mirroring working by rebooting then immediately turning on mirroring. That stopped working about a week ago. I tried the post #24 solution (with reboot) with no luck. After uninstalling the AllShare Cast system updates, it reverts to an app called FW Update that you can't remove or turn off, and despite rebooting after uninstalling it doesn't help - same old hardware issue error. I even tried forced stopping FW Update with no luck, and reinstalling Allshare Cast and trying the whole uninstall updates process again and again with no success. Now I am having problems with the downloaded Navigator app that says it went into read-only mode. I have done uninstalls/reinstalls/redownload data bases on that app and eventually it fails with the same error. Related to the the os upgrade? I have no idea. I have very little knowledge of the inner workings of Android.

As far as screen mirroring goes, I fiddled with wifi-direct settings and related wifi advanced settings hoping something might happen that would allow screen mirroring to work again. Nearby devices enable/disabled. Wifi networking enabled/disabled. Numerous app uninstalls including avast premium got me nowhere, as did attaching the dongle to another TV (remember, the dongle continues to work great with my Galaxy S4 Mini - its just that I want to use the Note Pro and not the s4 with screen mirroring).
I was very happy with this tablet until the os update came along. The update fixed nothing I was using and broke the stuff I need (screen mirroring.) I suppose I will have to do a factory reset and go through a tedious app restore process. I wish I had some confidence that it would work. My experience with the SM-P900 is turning into a major disappointment. Had this os upgrade occurred within the retailer's return window, this thing would have gone back for a refund. I like my S4 Mini but this Android tablet ordeal is a disaster for me.

Your fix solved my problem Chief10rules !!!
I've been told by Samsung Customer Service to send the device for repair ;-)
Fantastic work Chief10rules !!!
Many thanks !!!

Try to do the Factory Reset and THEN follow the steps in my Post #24. It should work, I am not sure why it is not working on your Note Pro. Good Luck!

I find that if you get screen mirroring enabled before your wifi is connected it will work. If you get the message to restart screen mirroring to improve stability do not and it will continue to work. This is obviously a bug Samsung / Google should be addressing

Thanks Chief10rules and whaledd for responding. After the factory reset I regained screen mirroring functionality. However, it works the same as when the tablet firmware was upgraded in about November (which of course is a big step up from not working at all). I find that the screen mirroring usually works if it is enabled right after startup or a restart. The all-share cast app uninstall doesn't make a difference for me. It's the restart that clears something up. I hope Samsung figures out what they broke in the current firmware so they can restore the feature to it's previous working state. I'd rather avoid the factory reset route, obviously, but at least I can get the feature working if it konks out again.

Re: Screen Mirroring not working "hardware conflict"

Root breaks screen mirroring. Un root and it returns. Haven't heard of anyone with a hardware issue running a stock (unrooted) device. Anyone having that issue stock?

I have a Samsung galaxy pro and am getting the same error 'unable to start screen mirroring because of a hardware issue'. Spent several hours on the phone to Samsung support but we were unable to get it to work. It used to work intermittently but now doesn't work at all. Sounds as though Samsung have put an update through which has broken this.

Hi all, just as an additional note on the mirroring subject..

I have a samsung ue46es8000 smart tv. I also have a samsung tabpro sm-t320 .
Ive been trying to mirror the screen unsuccessfully for weeks.

Samsung have told me to upgrade to an 'EVO' sek 2000 (£230) to be able to do it, or alternatively purchase a samsung hub(ead t10)(£130!!) .

My workaround that works..is..
use a chromecast.. connect two devices(tv + chromecast) and tablet on wifi direct.
The use the chromecast menu to 'mirror screen' ..

Works like a dream on my setup any way..

Best wishes

Tob

Same here. Stock (unrooted) Android on Note Pro 12.2 (wifi) and same error when connecting to Samsung TV from end of 2014.

I would check the NEO forums, maybe on xda, or just the note 3. Im pretty sure you will need to odin back to stock to get the function working, then re-root.
