Hello, I am new to these boards, so this may have been answered before. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere, so I am asking now.

The T-Mobile GS2 defaults to the 4G mode. In the Network Mode options menu I have 3 choices: 1) GSM/WCMDA (Auto Mode), 2) GSM Only, 3) WCDMA Only.

For Power savings on the phone, I want to be on the 3G network most of the time. Is the third choice, WCDMA the 3G choice or is that something different?

I am confused here and I can't find the right search string to see where others have commented on this.

Thanks, Mike

Mike, afaik, you either get 2g (EDGE on t-mobile/att), or 3g/4g. 2g is the GSM setting, and 3g/4g would be WCDMA.

I read on another site (slickdeals) that the T989 does has a radio/network stack that is only supported by TMO, and not supported by ATT or any of the ATT MVNOs? Is that true?

More specifically, is the radio/network stack on the T989 as capable as the Google Nexus stack?
