Galaxy s20+ no wi-fi calling option

To mustang7757 and anyone else following this thread, I haven't abandoned my quest to find a solution to the stated problem (no Wi-Fi Calling) on my wife's S20+ 5G phone. I've been and still currently am juggling several tasks and home projects, so the time I have available for this task keeps getting reprioritized, depending on weather and other factors. That said, I have continued learning more on this topic and have downloaded and installed SamFW and used it to download the Samsung Galaxy S20+ firmware for CSCs VZW, XAA and XAR, so I'll have what will be needed when I do get to the point of flashing firmware to hopefully resolve the no Wi-Fi Calling issue. BTW, if anyone believes I should download any other CSC versions, please let me know.

On a related note, I also recenly downloaded Odin 3.14.4 and today, when I launched it for the first time, I was surprised to see a window pop up before seeing app, saying "Please be sure to delete your Google account (Samsung account) before downloading the binary. It is not possible to use the device without unlocking. Changing the partition without unlocking will cause problem." This was a surprise and made me somewhat suspicious that I had somehow gotten a "tainted" (i.e., app with malware, virus or spyware) Odin app, even though I downloaded it from supposedly safe/official site and none of my PC security apps for detecting malware, virus and spyware detected any such problem during scans of downloaded SamFW and Odin apps, scanning all downloads with all my security apps. I'm just not sure what I should think about this opening statement upon opening Odin for the first time.

So, to cap this for the time being, I'll get back to this thread as soon as I can and hopefully can tap into mustang7757 and/or others knowledge to get guidance on getting firmware flashed that will resolve the problem. I thank you all for your patience and willness to help and look forward to getting back to this task ASAP.

1. This is 100% an issue with the phone being "unlocked"

2. This will also affect the ability to use the visual voicemail app/feature. It can't be installed

3. The best, fastest, easiest, free way around this is to use Google Voice. It CAN use Wi-Fi calling even when the phone dialed app can't. Demonstrating that it is in fact Verizon blocking the functionality because the same functionality works just fine if you go through Google voice. This is a very sketchy policy by VZW since I own this phone it's paid for it belongs to me they shouldn't be disabling dysfunctionality especially since it's an emergency phone.

I know all of this by having a spare unlocked S20+ on Verizon via eSim.

The one thing I'll test when I get my S24u back from repair is if removing the eSim allows the wifi calling option to appear. Obviously since I'm using an eSim provided by Verizon (no more sim cards) it's talking to Verizon and therefore knows it's an unlocked phone and therefore disables the Wi-Fi calling feature. So logically I would think if I remove the eSim once I get my other phone back from repair it will then not be talking to Verizon and should therefore activate Wi-Fi calling since it's not then provisioned on any network.

You can wifi call with Google Voice. Irrespective of the function being disabled by Verizon. I know because I'm doing it right now and I've already been through all of this on my s20+ which is unlocked with Verizon which I keep around as an emergency phone which I happen to need this week when my s24 ultra failed.

I'm ready when you are just tag me , I do have references on how to do this in each Samsung Forums as a sticky

Thank you mustang7757 for touching base with me again. My lastest and current project is building a custom deck for the front of our house, but that is also weather dependent. Based on what appears to be your great experience, do you recommend any particular firmware that I flash for my wife's S20+ besides or other than what I've already downloaded? Also, regarding the references you mentioned, if it's easy for you to do it, can you send me a forum message with references in the Samsung forums to the recommended stickies? I presume these have advice / guidance for which tool(s) to use as well as which firmware to use in the flashing process, along with any pertinent cautionary statements to pay attention to. I definitely appreciate your help with doing that and any tips you may think of for achieving a good outcome.
