Galaxy S24+: Gmail sounds turned OFF, but still making sound

I actually have a few questions I will put in here. I am relatively tech savvy, and have tried endlessly googling answers to issues I'm having with this new phone. The issues I'm having do not seem to align with the settings I've chosen, so I'm hoping to get some insight from WELL-SEASONED Android and Google users.

1) Gmail sound notification is turned OFF, but still receiving sound notification. Under Settings > Notifications > App Notifications > Gmail, I've selected ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS, SILENT, AND BADGE (and DE-selected Lock screen). See attached screenshot to confirm. Why am I still receiving a sound when I get a new email,, and how do I stop it??

2) Nothing shows up on my screen when phone is locked (not my "lock screen" mind you), when receiving a notification. My partner and I have the same exact phone, with the same exact settings, and he is not having this issue. When he receives a notification that has been allowed for Lock Screen, he sees a (very) temporary banner while his phone is locked and on a black screen, showing what the notification is for. I do not. We tried several things to address this, including enabling "Detailed View" for banner notifications, and selecting the Details option for notification widgets on the Lock Screen (which I understand is not the same as a phone that's locked, but thought it might be the solution, because Google...). Why am I not getting banners (and yes, I have allowed banners individually for certain apps, please do not suggest that) on my LOCKED PHONE when a notification is received??? How can I fix this??

Again, please only WELL-SEASONED ANDROID AND GOOGLE USERS need respond. I do not need any "have you tried turning it off and on again" baloney.

As you can see in my screenshot, "Notification Categories" is not an option in that menu (Settings > Notifications > App Notifications > Gmail). Only "Configure in Gmail".

I apologize, I missed the second Advanced" instruction. - I hope this works, thank you!!!

Also, WHO DESIGNED THIS?! Why isn't it enough to just choose "Silent" in the Gmail notifications?? UGH.

Little of Google and Samsung at fault for these deep settings now

Any insight on

Any insight on my other issue? Wherein I am not receiving any banner notifications on my locked phone?
Tap that banner in your screenshot I circled in red it's off it should say allow like the one next to it with one tap

It set to not allowed
Correct, for Gmail (because I do not want my gmail notifications to come through on my lock screen). Here are 3 screenshots of apps that DO have the Lock screen notifications allowed, that are NOT coming through to my locked phone.

To be really clear, banners ARE showing up on my "Lock Screen" but NOT when my phone is LOCKED (i.e. black screen, maybe sitting on my desk). But banners DO come through on my spouse's locked phone, under the same circumstances. Why don't mine?

Lock screen and locked phone are the same thing, I'm little confused?
Unless you mean AOD screen then lock screen?

Maybe I am not using the correct terminology.

When my phone is locked and not being used, it has a black, locked screen (I do not use AOD). If I double tap the black screen in order to UNlock the phone, I see what I know as my "Lock Screen" (e.g. if I change my wallpaper, I have the option to change it for my "Lock Screen", and my "Home Screen").

I want to see the banners come through to the BLACK screen, as my spouse's does. But they only appear on my Lock Screen (and they didn't used to do that, even, but I figured that out).
