Galaxy S24U problem

I was really hoping that this would resolve itself, but no such luck...I do the "crosswords with Friends" puzzle every night. The app crashes ONLY when i use the S-pen. I've wiped the cache, and restarted the app, but the problem persists. I haven't done any settings on the S-pen, at all. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Please describe the crash? The app just closes, the app crashes with an error message, the phone restarts... What happens?

How do you have to recover? What is your process for getting back into the phone or game after this event?

From when you start the game to the time of the first crash, how long does it take? Can you predict when it is going to crash or could it be 1 minute in, 7 minutes in, half an hour in, just random?

Once you recover, how long does this last after the first crash until the next? Is there a next crash?

Is it possible that you are closing the app by swiping too close to the edge of the screen?

Are you using any MagSafe products with this device? Any accessories, case, credit card holder, anything with a magnet?

For which app have you wiped the cache? The game or Pentastic? I think Pentastic is the default S-Pen app but I cannot find any other app related to it and do not remember if it came pre-installed. So maybe also try clearing the cache on the Settings app...

That's about all I can think of right off. Let us know what you find and we'll try to assist.

The app freezes, and i have to reboot the phone to get the app to work! I get these puzzles sent to my phone every night at 2200hrs. I don't know if this matters, but when i had a Pixel/Nexus phone, this never happened.

Weird. Has it always been like this? If not when did it start, like how long ago? Trying to tie it to an update or something like that. Which brings me to my next thing which is clearing the phone partition cache. You've cleared the cache for the game app, I don't think there is any way to clear a cache associated with the S-Pen directly so the big cache for the device would be as close as I think you could get.

You could uninstall the game and install it again. I imagine it saves your progress/earnings or whatever, so you wouldn't lose anything as long as you have an account for the game. This might be more for if this has always been an issue but I guess it could also be if a game update started this... Just something wonky happening software wise.

The only other thing that comes to mind is installing Pentastic. I don't know that it changes much with anything but maybe it adds something. @mustang7757 do you have Pentastic from GoodLock installed by chance? If not ignore this I guess.

Good point on magnets , I do have Pentastic but not in use .

I'm using Gboard also
You can reset your spen when u open its settings in the upper right corner tap

Now, i'm going out on a limb here, but maybe there is something wrong with the s-pen??? Unfortunately, that pen is the main reason that i left Pixel for Galaxy. Zynga, that app's publisher, hasn't been able to help me either. Ok, so otherwise the phone works good, but i'm so used to the Google platform and all it's apps that i'll probably go back to them with the Pixel 9 pro xl. Thanks for your help.

It sounds like that game app is the problem, rather than the S Pen. Unfortunately, I don't play that game, so I can't help here. I guess it's up to you how important that game app is compared to everything else you use your device to do. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Did it automatically open a blank email when you pulled out your S Pen? If so, something (probably another app) created that routine to start a blank email upon removing the S Pen from the silo. I don't know what app would do that.

Yes, it automatically did that. I don't know either, and at this point...I don't care. I've been saying all along that the problem is the s-pen.
