I tried updating OTA but I keep getting the message "The latest updates have already been installed." I haven't tried updating my S3 using Kies. is there any workaround i can try to update my device? Is 4.3 really better than 4.1.2? Thanks in advance.

Not much of a difference other than an updated UI in some places.
Use Kies 3.0 if you're going to update that way

Hi, I've checked the region by pressing *#1234# and here's what I've got.

AP: I9300XXEMF6
CP: I9300XXEMA5
CSC: I9300OJVEMF1

I really wanted to update my SGS3 to android 4.3, I haven't got the latest Kies installed on my PC. how can i update it through OTA?

You don't want Kies v3 - that is intended for phones that already have 4.3 (or later) firmware; you should be using Kies v2.6.

If you've gone to Settings -> About phone -> Software update and checked for updates and nothing is available then there's no OTA being pushed by your carrier - you'll have to do it manually via Kies (which probably won't show an update) or Odin.
