Hi, I downloaded the latest update for my galaxy s3 yesterday and ever since my phone won't start, it stays stuck on the Samsung screen glowing blue in the background and when i turn it off it turns itself back on, all I can do is take the battery out. I had it set previously using next launcher, I don't know if that could be the problem. Any help would be appreciated, I really cannot afford to lose the messages and other data saved on this phone I'll do anything to avoid it

I might need a little more, as I'm very far from fully understanding everything about my phone. With your method will I be able to save everything that's currently stored on my s3?

No once you flash stock odin it will wipe and reload you device it will be like it was from the day you bought it..

Okay but that goes back to my original problem which is that I can't afford to lose the data on my phone, messages, photos, etc. and I'm trying to find a way to keep that intact. I was wondering if there is a way that maybe when I have access to my computer again(I'm on vacation for 2 weeks) I could somehow back up the data so that when I reset the phone it will still be intact

Well the phone is in a state known as soft brick. it usally comes from a bad download or incompatible software. If the phone cant boot then nothing can be seen.. so unless your stuff like photos were saved on an ext sd then theres no saving it.Factory data reset wont work at this point because the phone has not fully booted into the system.. your stock recovery at this point has a image of this new firmare and it loops to an image that is no good.
Ota or "over the air" is bad. Your only hope would be if your pc sees your stuff but it wont because the system wont boot..
also if you do get this ota to boot your stuff will be gone.. its a new flash.. probeblly kit kat..
