My new Galaxy S7 edge registered download speeds of 22-25 Mbps on my WIFI 5ghz network.

My old Galaxy S4 registers download speeds of 80-90 Mbps on the same WIFI 5ghz network.

I have comcast as an internet provider.

Using a Linksys wrt 1900 acs router and a Motorola Surfboard sb6141 modem.

Called Samsung and they said the S7 should be faster.

This is an AT&T Galaxy S7 edge.

Samsung Tech Support concluded that this could be isolated to AT&T phones. It could be some AT &T software on the phone that is causing slower WIFI download speeds. Hopefully a patch will fix this.

Has anyone else who has an AT&T S7 edge phone experience this? If you have one, can you test to see if it occurs comparing the results to another device preferably to an older galaxy?

Same thing here. This happens at home but everywhere else the s7 is screaming fast. We have a new router and have switched channels and ghz. not much is helping. But my note 3 is fine on the same wifi..Hmm ...go figure.

This is with BHN Lightning 300mbps. So I don't think it is wide spread. Check your router firmware to see if it needs to be updated.

My router's firmware is the latest. Like I stated, S4 is about 4 times faster then the S7 on the same router 5ghz band. So it is not a router issue.

Try changing the channel that your router uses on the 5ghz band

Just did again. Nearly 300mbps this time. The phone is certainly capable of faster then you are reporting.

Try disabling Bluetooth on the S7 Edge. My wi-fi connection was very slow at home and also was not connecting. When I shut off the wi-fi and used 4g the phone was screaming fast. I was going to return the phone, but I read somewhere that disabling Bluetooth may help solve the issue. Once Bluetooth was disabled, Speedtest showed 80/78 and I pay for 75/75 from Verizon. I am hoping a software fix will take care of this, but for the time being I shut off Bluetooth when I am at home.

Change your router settings to IP4v instead of IP6v. Then reboot both router and modem, and also phone.

The one thing i notice with wifi , if you have wifi set to Keep wifi on while charging, I get slower speeds. Set it to Always, and I get faster speed.

The first is when i have it set to keep wifi on while charging. Second is when it's set to always. Faster speeds and ping when set to Always. You can get similar results with it set to keep on for charging if you run the app. Then close the app, open it again and run the test again. The second time will always be significantly faster. Also, first try force stop the app, and also clear cache. Then run it again. For some reason, the app does get messed up at times.

I generally have Bluetooth off unless I use it to play music to Bluetooth speakers, etc. This problem exists with Bluetooth off.

The question remains with the same router settings and phone settings, why is my old S4 four times faster then my S7? Unless there is some setting that are not consistent across the phones.

I as well have to shut your Bluetooth off in order for my wifi to work at home. So ridiculous I have an optimum modem with netgear router. I may try to change the channel and see if that does anything. Sucks bc I like keeping my Bluetooth on for the hands free in the car

Go into settings and then WiFi. Please select your WiFi network and let me know what the speed is showing it is connected at.
