I have read all of your posts - however, on my S4, everything was working perfectly fine BEFORE updating to KitKat 4.4.4. I have Facebook, Exchange, a bunch of Google Apps, and always turn off Wifi and Bluetooth if not using them. I called AT&T yesterday. The rep called Samsung and called me back. She told me that they are planning a "fix" for sometime in late December. I told her that was totally unacceptable. As a work-around, she suggested that I turn off all apps that I wasn't using - including ALL of the Google Apps. She said to make sure that I cleared the data and cache for each one that I turn off. I have done a cache partition wipe twice, and downloaded AVG Cache cleaner - constantly use that. The bottom line is that my phone is continuing to have unacceptable battery drain. When I go to bed with a fully charged battery, it is totally drained when I get up in the am. This was NOT the case prior to 4.4.4. I want to use my phone, not turn off everything. At this point, not sure what to do. I could exchange my phone under the warranty program, but I'm fearful that AT&T will "push" out the 4.4.4 update eventually and my phone will be in the similar condition. I shouldn't have to disable Sync or reduce it down from "push" to a less often sync. The phone should work as it did prior to 4.4.4. The S6 can't come soon enough for me!! (I'm not going to go to the S5 at this point in time.
