Hi
I have this problem but dont understand your description of how to fix it.. can you be a bit more specific please for us non android experts :) thanks

Re: Touchwiz wont stay as default launcher!

Please could someone explain "how" to do this fix? thanks

To get rid of the choice for touchwiz or touchwiz easy home when you press the home key go to Settings, select "Device" at top, select "Easy mode", and swipe it to off. This took care of it on my husband's Note 3.

bchildress!
THANK YOU so much!!! x1000000000000000
It worked after 2 months I tried to get rid of this issue with many ways and read ALL forums on web.
-Uninstalled Google Update: Nada
-Cleared Touchwiz Cache: Nada
-Cleared "SetDefaultLauncher" Cache: Nada
-Rebooting phone: Nada
-Switched between Home and EasyHome, and then back: Nada
-Forced stop EasyHome: Nada

I suspected when I see HotmailConnect in default homepage, but I couldn't accept that may be the THING, cuz I use it much.
But you reminded it to me! Now its OK!

hello lovely people of the internet, i am experiencing the same problem that most are having on this post. I have been getting the touchwiz pop up every time that i press the home button and would like it if someone could go in depth with the "deleting" of the google search update. This is driving me and most others crazy some help would be nice. thank you in advance

try going into your "Default Application" (you can search this under Setting) and see what you have in your list under "Home" - if you see anything that's NOT Touchwiz or Touchwiz Simple, delete the app. I had Hotmail Connect and once i deleted the app everything was fixed.

Re: Touchwiz wont stay as default launcher!

Guys, I MIGHT HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION.

Uninstall the latest search for Google Search (11/15/2013) - It is very unstable. When you hit the Google search bar and then the home button on some your Android devices, it will prompt you for the zillionth time "continue using action as..." where you'll have to select a launcher. I just uninstalled the latest update and it fixed it for me (at least for the time being). No more prompts - Touchwiz is stored as default launcher.

None of these fixes worked for me. Not the Google search solution either. What I did find was that it was an app I downloaded yesterday that was causing the problem. It was the "Connect for Hotmail" app. Once I uninstalled it everything was resolved (just like the guy with the pizza app) lol

This issue was resolved for me as well, once I uninstalled Connect for Hotmail. The Outlook App is a good replacement.

My solution:

Uninstalled Connect for Hotmail (which showed as one of the launcher options) and problem is fixed.

I noticed that anytime I would manually set the default launcher for the Home key to Touchwiz home, it would never save the setting in the Default Applications screen - it would always revert to Android; until I uninstalled Connect for Hotmail, finally then it would actually set the default app to Touchwiz home and save the setting. I tried the previous suggestions of uninstalling Google Search updates, and then Google search entirely, which fixed the problem TEMPORARILY but that still never allowed me to manually set the default launcher to Touchwiz successfully.

I think this bug is obviously related to 3rd party apps, and more specifically if you have any 3rd party app which allows you to set it as a Home key launched app - Connect for Hotmail is one such example.

I have this problem both on the latest Android (Lollipop) and the previous version (KitKat) - although it temporarily disappeared when the Lollipop update came down.

Forcing a STOP and Disabling Google Search worked for me as well. This problem started happening on my Note 3 as soon as I installed a free live wallpaper called "Tsunami". It screwed up my phone real good!
