Galaxy S5: How's everyone's battery life so far?

Been using the phone for fb/email/light browsing off and on about 8 hours today. 60% left / 7 hr 38m 39 s ...

Coming from a Razr Maxx, I couldn't be happier with the battery life. ;)

Mine has been decent, but not outstanding. Most I've gotten is just under 3 hours SOT. So many factors in general affect battery so it's hard to compare to others. It is definitely an improvement over s4/m7 and iPhone 5S for me.
And not great today. Screens attached.

my battery life is terrible and i feel like ive disabled everything. it's on par with my iphone5. maybe even worse.

my screen takes up 37 percent of my battery even though ive disabled all of the obvious settings and dimmed it

Screen should use more than anything else by far. Mine is currently at 60% and battery life is great.

Definitely not normal. Android OS shouldn't be using nearly that much battery. Do you reboot your phone at all?

I put my phone through an extensive test today. These are my results while on Wi-Fi.

Overall I'm impressed.

That is what my battery looked like the first few days. I went through and disabled any and every app I didn't need I even kept it on airplane mode most of the day. I unchecked always scan for local wifi, and chose turn wifi off when sleeping. Those seemed to help. I am still not getting the best battery life compared to others, and the fact I had to go through the phone for two days disabling stuff makes me feel like something isn't right.
Here was mine a few days ago.

I do, but I don't recall if I had during the day yesterday. I did after posting that.

Screenshot_2014-04-19-02-55-50.jpgthis is from yesterday. Since I work overnight my phone is idle from at least 10 am to 5 pm until I get up to go to work again. My phone gets more use at night while I'm at work.

I have found the battery life to be about 25% more than my S3. It was bad at first but after turning off the bloatware from VZW and making some changes, it is fantastic for a smartphone with a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display. If it helps, this is my settings that gives me 24 hours of moderate use easily:

Power saving mode on: I just have the GPU slow down enabled.
Auto Brightness with the bar set to just below 50%
Turned off all Verizon Apps and other junk not needed.
Use Fast Reboot Pro to stop all programs except those on my exclude list when locking and unlocking phone.
I have one 4x1 weather Widget (Fancy Widgets), and two other 1x1 widgets,
I leave Bluetooth and WIFI on all the time.
I have NFC, Tabs, one handed modem, keep screen on with eye contact, and most other features like that turned off;
I keep the GPS off which really helped my battery life.
I have the back arrow and menu button lights turn off after 1.5 seconds.
I have the screen turn off after 2 minutes but I manually lock it using the power button whenever I put it up or back into my pocket.
I use the fingerprint scanner during M-F when I an at clients all day but turn it off during the weekend.
I don't use live wallpapers. I use a app called Premium Wallpapers and choose a very nice looking background that is mainly silver, black, and white which makes it easy to see the icons.
I have no screensaver on. I use Alarm Clock plus where it shows the clock and alarm time but only when docked with it being charged.

I get very good life with this. I also don't install a ton of programs. I have about 10 games, 15 productivity software, 10 travel software, and maybe another 10 assorted programs on it. I am using less about 35% of the internal memory and have most of the games moved to the Micro SDCard.

You might want to try similar settings if you are not getting the battery life you want.

So how good is the battery life for a heavy user? On my RAZR Maxx I routinely use the internet and music heavily on a daily basis. Especially when I'm at the gym and I need something to do in between sets.

In the first few days the battery time was very good for me. But after all the geeky setup the battery drained dramaticly.
After some research I found out that the Exchange Mail setup drained it all up... Fix for me was the last post on this thread
: http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...ttery-drain-issue-exchange-services-data.html
And after that fix I had new problem with Android Services drained the battery alot and found this tip helpful: https://productforums.google.com/d/msg/nexus/kKJqGw-PFHc/jvFqtcQGNK8J :::
"""Something i tried yesterday and seems like battery is back to normal.
I switched to developer mode and activated the ART. It basically optimizes your apps as you know. Next played around with different apps. Then reverted it back to default run time. After this the battery behavior is back to normal. I mean now it is lasting for more than 24 hours with one charge.
I am not sure how technically it benefited by switching to ART and back to original. But it is working fine now.
Can anyone try this and check if the battery consumption betters. """

After that everything back to normal for me. Sorry for all the cut/paste stuff. New here and on forums :p Images below show`s (I hope) before and after the fixes.
Norwegian language but think the symbols should be enough to understand..

Re: How's everyone's battery life so far?

even after taking pictures web browsing and videos, I still end up the night with abut 31%
I get up at 5 am and don't go to bed until about 11 pm.. so that is not bad at all..
