I read in more than one place that samsung was extremely disappointed in S4 sales, especially after the first month or two. I don't see anything about this phone that's going to get people in the stores to buy it. Nothing

Doesn't mean the sales were a flop, just that they were expecting more.
People will still buy these and it will still break sales records regardless of what you like or dislike about it. I, as well as others, really like the improvements they made.

I'm not sure they ever released sales numbers though. So that's kind of unsubstantiated.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't like the S4. I thought it was far too similar to the S3. The S5 differentiates with looks, better TouchWiz, and improvements in the areas that matter IMO (camera, battery life presumably, and water/dust resistance to name some standouts).

So now please explain to me the phone lagging TWICE pretty bad in 1 three minute video? Don't even bother to tell me that its "not the final OS version" because thats a crap *** excuse. Do you see Apple or anyone else announcing a phone and saying oh, dont mind the lag its beta?

....Same horrible physical home button (ughhh), Basically the same capacity battery, a couple more megapixel camera, no improvement to the screen, it's significantly larger and heavier with only a 0.1" bump in screen size. No metal body as had long been rumored, same cheap s*** plastic look and feel as other Galaxy phones. Not a thing to really "move the needle." No 4000Ma battery, no optical image stabalization, no ultra HD screen, etc. In short, a serious piece of s***.
Samsung, you're going to get you *** handed to you by Apple.
This is just pathetic.

Damn were u expecting a phone from 007 or something??
U should probably play with the phone first before u make judgments

Trandz, you forget that the vast majority of buyers will be S3 upgraders

My upgrade hits at the end of April and i have an S3. Everyone else in my family upgraded (Dad got a Note 3 and a 5c for his other line, sister got a gold 5s, mom got a 5c). I'm the only one left out and the S5 looks really good to me.

Yes, bugs are expected in the beta...Apple even had a few really bad bugs after the official release

Exactly what I mean. Nobody has had an S4 for 2 years yet, but a great deal of those who bought S3s are coming up on the end of their contract.

None hindered the performance. I had the 5S on launch day and never did I click an app and it took 4 seconds to load. Especially when people boast about Android and its amazing specs. What good are they when the phone still runs like crap?

The only Android phone that has had less than stellar performance was the S4. Almost all other flagships performed well.
For the record, I never had an app take four seconds to load...

Disappointed....no. Underwhelmed.....perhaps! This will just make me hold out longer and (possibly) look for another phone that catches my interest. Waiting for the Note 4 doesn't seem like a bad idea now, for me.

Going against the grain here I know but I am looking forward to getting this phone. I'm looking forward to integrating their fitness apps and galaxy gear fit into my daily workouts as well as finally getting a spark capable phone finally (switched to Sprint a few months before they announced spark). The faster af and 0.3 sec speed between snapping pics and hdr +. Mostly I'm just looking forward to trying something new

Why in the world would ANYONE that has an S4 get this? Really? What is the ONE selling point? None at all.

I'll tell ya why I'm finna buy it. I'm in no contact, so I have to pay retail for the phone. Figure $650, I SHOULD be able to get $350 for my S4, So I will only pay $300 for the phone... Next year I'll do the same thing for the S6
