On the galaxy s3 and early s4 the power button could lock the screen instantly no swipe or password. No pocket dialing or any nonsense since when you received a text, the power button was the only thing that could unlock the screen. There is no option for this on the s5, any ways to get it?

I use a passcode.

This way I don't accidentally unlock my phone in my pocket. Sometimes you can accidentally press the Home Button against your leg in your pocket.

Other phones have a recessed home button, so it's harder to do that.

The S5's home button protrudes, so its easier to accidentally "but-dial", so to speak.\

I would take my phone out of my pocket some days and see like 12 apps opened, the phone dialing someone, text messages like "dkfjnq4fn4ofun4aiufniunvi" sent to random people. It's was quite interesting lol. One time my mom started talking to me from my pocket. I am not even joking. Right after I took out the trash, I hear, "Oh Hi. What's up? Did you call me? " from my pocket. Completely freaked me out.

So I added a 4-number pin lock and now I'm cool.

If I somehow manage to dial that exact number inside my pocket and unlock the phone like that, I'm selling my S5. lol

Haha, yea that does happen..plus you get the random applications and such open with some extras thrown in the mix. Unfortunately, the password will not work for me since I use the phone pretty frequently. It is quite irritating having to punch in a password each time, its an extra step. Even the swipe drives me insane, since it unlocks in my pocket every time i get a text. I have also tried all the pocket protector apps, but they still end up annoyingly doing the same deal.

What I am looking for is exactly what they had on the s3's and early s4's. When you get a text it notifies you, but does not allow anything to be touched on the screen. For example, If i got a text it turns the screen on but you can touch it all day long, swipe put in your pocket...lick it for all you want but it deactivates the touch. So nothing you touch but the power button can activate the touch and bring you home. It is seriously the easiest most effective way to use the phone.

Hope you understand what I am talking out
