Galaxy S5 Screen Flash & Flickering Annoyances

I have just started to use Galaxy S5 Lollipop less than four months ago, and of a sudden I have to face unpleasant annoyances as follows:
1. When I press the Power Button to make the phone standby, or when I press the Home Button or Power Button to wake the phone, the transition screen flashes with light color, such as white, yellow or green, whole screen or partial screen.
2. Sometimes, when I press the Home Button or Power Button to wake the phone, the device does not wake up, the screen stays black, only the Back Button and the Recent Apps Button light up. I have to press the Power Button a few times before the Lock Screen comes up.
3. When the display brightness is low, be it by setting it manually to low, or when the screen start to dim due to inactivity on Automatic Brightness, then the screen starts to flicker with light green color. This can be overcome by turning off Automatic Brightness and set the Manual Brightness not low.
Those annoyances must be hardware problem, because rebooting with Safe Mode does not eliminate those problems.
To work around annoyances 1 and 2, I intend to never let the device go to sleep, and to minimize battery drainage, I intend to let the device stay at Lock Screen with minimum configurations, i.e., black background and small clock only, nothing else.
To stay awake I have found “Keep Screen On!” that does the job perfectly. I could only find “Screen Off” to bring the device to black screen, but then I still have to press the Home Button to bring up the Lock Screen, and in that process annoyance 1 or 2 can still take place. To avoid annoyance 1 or 2 to take place, I would need some sort of shortcut on the Home Screen, be it an apps or something else, that by touching it the device is brought to Lock Screen right away, not to black screen. Any help or hint to achieve it will be highly appreciated.

It seems that no one is helping me to achieve my goal above.
Meanwhile I found another strategy, I still use “Keep Screen On!” to let the device stay awake, but then now I use “Black Screen” to turn off the screen (make it black) without going to sleep/standby. Thereby the battery drain is minimum, as AMOLED is the most part of battery drain.
Anyway, if there is any other suggestion to better solve my problem above, it will still be welcome and appreciated.

I have had this same issue for months and it is very annoying. My 2 year contract was about to end and my S5 was to the point where I couldn't get it out of the black screen mode at all on wakeup (power button or home button). I decided to monkey with some settings and focused on the lock screen, since everything seems to work fine with the LCD, except when you are waking up into the lock screen. I noticed that I was getting a lot of lock screen notifications (email, updates, etc.). So, on a hunch I went to the sound and notifications setup and shut off the lock screen notifications. I power cycled, cleared the cache with the reboot diag mode utility and rebooted. I have to say it is like night and day for me. I have seen one occurrence of black screen, but the next push got me out. I have been basically issue free for over a week and I use my phone for work all day long. Up to the time I changed this setting, I considered my S5 a brick. I also noticed the yellow flickering on wake up has almost gone away. Now, this all could be some weird coincidence, but I have tried the cache clear on its own a few times and that has done nothing for my S5.. it flickered away and got wedged in black screen mode.

Give it a try.. hopefully this helps out someone else as well. I am delaying my S7 purchase, since my S5 is back to normal again.
